Jeremy or Boris? Who do you prefer?

Im not a conservative voter and I’m also anti Brexit. Not sure who is going to be worse - Jeremy or Boris!
Who would you back more (even if you hate them both) and why?

I'm going with option c and renegotiating the pool we get to choose from - if it's good enough for Boris & Jeremy to say they'll renegotiate with the EU (despite the EU saying no go) then I think it's reasonable for me too. Sadly it wouldn't make much difference because the wider pool is equally inept. It's like saying 'do you want Corbyn or Diane Abbott for PM?' Neither has any benefit (though DA would be quite amusing for a short while)

Mia1415 · 26/06/2019 15:12

I'm not really a fan of either. But I'd prefer Hunt other Johnson.

I think Boris is an idiot.

doesthiseemright · 26/06/2019 15:12

Can I have another option?

sue51 · 26/06/2019 15:13

Wasn't Boris's childhood ambition to be king of the world or some such. Hunt has only wanted to be PM for 30 years, so Jeremy. Don't care for either of them but I'm not a Tory party member and have no vote.

Woofbloodywoof · 26/06/2019 18:36

I’m not generally a doom mongerer but recent political events have convinced me whatever happens now, whoever is in charge, we are going to hell in a handcart. At best for three or four years; at worst for decades.
So, as I’d rather be entertained on the way to Hades, Boris it is. He’s been let out of his box in the last few days and frankly after the excruciating virtue signalling of the Emily Maitlis debate, his unhinged bus building crate hobby was a brief moment of levity in an otherwise gloomy landscape.
I realise these are straws I am clutching.

ForalltheSaints · 26/06/2019 19:01

Jeremy Hunt.

I have moral values, and remember Boris Johnson's disastrous period as London Mayor. The reduced police numbers, the bus that had three doors and a conductor that didn't take place, the bridge that never got built, and the Olympic legacy of the deal to use the stadium that costs taxpayers money (to a club run by a porn merchant, a sex toy salesman and a Tory peer). I do not forget how his 'careless language' when Foreign Secretary has led to someone still languishing in a jail in Iran.

Cinammoncake · 26/06/2019 19:30

Both awful. As a retainer I'd probably take the gamble with Boris, as we know he's most likely not a man of his word.

On a side note, why why why doesn't Jeremy Corbyn bugger off, for the good of the country. Get someone like Yvette Cooper in then call for a GA.

Libdem leadership contest is a happier picture imo, like them both

Cinammoncake · 26/06/2019 19:30

remainer

contentedsoul · 26/06/2019 19:34

Neither.
Nor Corbyn either.

Yep, the shit will certainly be flying pretty soon...…..

TheGoogleMum · 26/06/2019 19:45

Awful choice. Not a conservative member so no vote for me anyway, but if I had to pick maybe Jeremy hunt? I Don't feel good about it though I'm an nhs worker. I'll probably vote lib dems next general election if labour don't get their act together

Pinkfinkle · 26/06/2019 19:47

Honestly, I don’t trust either of them one iota. I’d pluck for Hunt if I were held to ransom but I don’t want either.

Cinammoncake · 26/06/2019 19:50

if I were held to ransom. Grin Grin

Grumpbum123 · 26/06/2019 19:51

Neither it’s like choosing between a gun to the head or hanging

NCforthis2019 · 26/06/2019 19:51

Boris.

contentedsoul · 26/06/2019 20:00

In all seriousness, I hope the Russians invade and blow up Westminster.
When I think back to the seriousness politics used to be and the god awful cheesy drama its become - I'm left utterly ashamed to be British!!

They are all an embarrassment, whose only goal is their own personal agendas.

I'd rather speak fucking German!!

Childrenofthestones · 26/06/2019 20:11

Boris!
Boris!
Boris!

bellinisurge · 27/06/2019 11:05

Here's a link for link loving @Clavinova and all other BeLeavers (if you can be arsed to click on it).

It is an analysis of Johnson's Plans A, B &C.

If you can be further arsed, please explain why Johnson has the best plans to get us out of this mess having watched the TDLR video on YouTube that the link should take you to.

derxa · 27/06/2019 11:33

Well on a Westmistenders thread I said that Jeremy Hunt looked quite Prime Ministerial and was called 'deranged'. I look at the different approaches BJ and JH have employed with regard to Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe and the difference is stark. And I mean at a personal level. Neither should be Prime Minister but we're going to get one of them.

I watched David Milliband on The Andrew Marr show. He sounded so intelligent and impressive. And I'm not even a Labour supporter

Purplequalitystreet · 27/06/2019 12:02

If I was a Tory voter, it would probably be Jeremy Hunt. There's a sentence I never thought I'd say!

SeaWitchly · 27/06/2019 12:27

Neither.

bellinisurge · 27/06/2019 12:36

Doesn't sound deranged to me @derxa . I dislike both of them but really dislike Johnson and doubt his ability to do it. Hunt could do it. I just dislike him.

Buccanarab · 27/06/2019 12:46

I seen someone say online that it's like choosing between Jimmy Savile and Ian Huntley to be your childminder and that pretty much sums it up for me.

ShinyMe · 27/06/2019 12:55

That's like being asked to choose between rabies and bubonic plague.

PenguinsRabbits · 27/06/2019 13:00

Boris

HalfDeadHousePlant · 27/06/2019 13:05

Those people saying Boris Johnson - please can you explain why? The man has no principles, will not do anything that doesn't personally benefit him or his cronies, is a serial adulterer and betrayer of friends and is about as skilled at diplomacy as his BFF Donald Trump. He also has Steve Bannon pulling his strings.
So please - explain to me what it is about him that you find so appealing that you want him to lead our country at a time of great crisis.
