To ask how many shoes do you have downstairs

2 adults & 2 teens,

Just been around and counted 39 pairs of shoes hanging around downstairs (including boots, flipflops, slippers) so nearly 10 pairs each.

Is this unusual?
Some are neatly on a shoe rack, some are on a boot rack, loads are just hanging around near doors.

I keep all my shoes in a trunk In my bedroom. I have a pair of flip flops downstairs and my work shoes. And garden shoes by the back door.

One or two per person, there are two of us. Typically school shoes for DS and trainers, or hiking boots that need to dry before they go under the stairs, still downstairs I guess but out of sight. Only the shoes that are worn on a day to day basis are out.

None, because I live in a second floor flat and I don't think the neighbours would appreciate random shoes in the communal hallway.

We have about ten pairs downstairs on the shoe rack. Between two of us. I’ve got a good twenty more plus upstairs. I like shoes.

Too many to go and count but I would guess close to a hundred pairs downstairs. I have around 60 pairs (used to have a lot more when I worked in an office), DH probably has 25ish pairs (lots of sports related shoes) and the rest are for the DC. We have a large walk-in cupboard in the hall where most of mine & DH’s shoes are stored on racks and the DC’s are supposed to be in the utility room but are usually scattered round the house.

There’s also about 8 pairs waiting to be eBayed.

A boot room so a few. All our multiple wellies and boots inverted over pegs - about a dozen pairs. Husband’s trainers drying - about four pairs. The occasional pair of heels kicked off on entry and forgotten for a few days.

Me and the baby have one pair each downstairs - OH has about 7 which are all stacked up and constantly annoy me but he gets quite agitated if I move them to the shoe cupboard upstairs 🙄

None as we keep all shoes upstairs. Can't stand them in the hall

Seven million pairs I think. Six of us.

Hiking boots, trainers, sandals, very muddy pair of shoes that I don't care enough about to clean... That's just for me.

I have a couple of pairs of "nice" shoes that are under my bed somewhere in case of emergency weddings.

3 of us......24 pairs!!!! Crazy!

Wow, I couldn’t be dealing with these volumes of shoes lying round the hall.

Me one pair of mules for outside all shoes are upstairs.
D'S however has fourteen pairs of seemingly identical Adidas bambas. Winds me right up.

Only usually 1 pair each - the pair we just took off - since we got the new puppy, and then they need to be put on the stairs behind the stair gate.

All the others are upstairs in 'the clothes room'.

Heaps but they are all neatly away in our massive shoe & coat cupboard (& further organised in there by owner). I couldn’t cope with shoes out all over the place.

The one exception is the dcs’ crocs which live in a basket by the back doors.

Drives me mad. There are often about three pairs (2 adults and 3 dc) hanging around. However we have a big box just inside the garage to house door which is the way we mostly come in. There are at least 20 pairs in there including flip flops trainers school shoes. The rest are away in wardrobes.

Probably more than 39! We have 4 shoe racks plus assorted shoes in the utility room and crocks by the back doior. Time for a sort out
