To ask how many shoes do you have downstairs

2 adults & 2 teens,

Just been around and counted 39 pairs of shoes hanging around downstairs (including boots, flipflops, slippers) so nearly 10 pairs each.

Is this unusual?
Some are neatly on a shoe rack, some are on a boot rack, loads are just hanging around near doors.

Family of 5 and we have about 6-7 pairs each including trainers, football boots, flip flops.
They’re all downstairs in shoe storage or under the stairs.

I have four.
They go on a specific shoe tray, which is black and made of textured plastic. So the soles don't touch the carpet at all. They come in via the main hall and go on the dark hard wearing carpet there, and then I take them off at the door. Having seen what's on the floor around here, I don't want that walked around my apartment when I'm barefoot most of the time, I want my carpet to be clean!

I have pale carpet so doing this has extended the life of it.

I live downstairs so it's kind of irrelevant but, I own one pair of shoes

None. We all have lifty-uppy beds and that’s where our shoes live.

Most of them. A shared wicker basket for DH and I and a little one next to it for DS. Wellies in the cupboard.

Only my nice heels live in the wardrobe in the bedroom.

Gosh 39 pairs, I don't think we own that many
I can sympathise because I often move 6 pairs from the hall. Nobody thinks to take them up with them, it annoys me tbh.

@21daysofsummer - what's wrong with shoes upstairs?

none as currently my daily pair are on my feet & the Mr's daily pair are on his feet.

We keep the other pairs upstairs

All of them because we don't have an upstairs.

As to random shoe distribution we're only allowed one 'ready' pair to be out at any given time. The rest live in allocated shoe storage or it'd be chaos.

One pair of boots each for me and DD

One pair of trainers and one pair of soft shoes belonging to DD.

Two pairs of soft shoes that are mine,

One pair of slippers each, no more shoes anywhere else.

Too many

I have one pair of walking shoes by the back door for when I need to take muttley out into the garden.
My husband however has about 95 pairs either at the front or back door😏

3x converse things
8xtrainers
5x wellies
3x flipflops
4x boots
2x smart mens shoes
1x sandals
2 x ladies slip on boots
1× Chelsea boots
1x steel toe capped boots
2x ballerina pumps
2x lace up canvas style things.
Far too many shoes!

I have 5 pairs.
Every day trainers
Running trainers
Allotment trainers
Sandals
Ankle boots

DH has 89000 pairs. Same with coats.

I have a pair of flip flops on my feet and a pair of trainers and a pair of boots on the rack in the back hall. DH has a pair of boots on the rack. I do have a lot of shoes, the ones I wear the most are on a shoe rack in the wardrobe and the rest are in their boxes. DH has fewer pairs but they are put away like mine. If you have all your shoes in a massive pile in a cupboard or somewhere don't they get bashed and dented?

Excluding specific sports shoes/hiking boots/wellies/slippers etc

I have about 6 pairs
DH has about 4 pairs
DS has 2 pairs
Teenage daughter has 1,987,124 pairs. All left by the front door for us to trip over.

I live with 1 adult DD - we have six pairs
Me - everyday shoes (desert boots)
Pair of heavier knee high boots for cold weather 9these will be swapped for sandals when summer finally comes)
Wellies for the garden
Pair of slippers

DD - one pair trainers
One pair ballet pumps
She laughs in the face of slippers and wanders around barefoot inside.

I own other shoes but they are all upstairs in the bottom of my wardrobe.

My earlier guess of 25 was a little low. We actually have 43 pairs between me and the dc's .
In my defence we are very outdoorsy though. similar issue with coats.

One pair of trainers (each) one pair of shoes and one pair of sandals, all in the shoe cupboard. 2 Pairs of Crocs by the back door for the garden.

All the rest are upstairs. Including the ones I never wear, just take out of the cupboard and admire every so often...

Those people who dislike shoes upstairs, why?
Because I don't want dirt inside my house.

How do you check what your outfit look like in heels etc? Where do you keep the nice ones you rarely wear?
Simple, I don't wear heels. Most of the year round I wear jeans, a top and a hoody with either boots or shoes depending on the weather
When it's warm I wear light weight trousers or shorts, a top and sandals. I don't have pairs I rarely wear because there are things I'd rather spend my money on but the ones I only wear for smart occasions just live on the same rack as the every day ones.

None-if we leave shoes unattended they get eaten by the dog!

Most of ours are kept in wardrobes upstairs. We each have a pair of runners, casual slip ons and sandals downstairs in a shoe box at the front door. Well it's live outside by the front door.

Aghh the bane of my life. Why do teenagers find it impossible to put shoes away? This creates more arguments in this house than any other subject.

Just looked. 5! That’s 5 shoes, not 5 pairs! Odd that.

I don’t wear shoes in the house, so I kick them off by the door and they mount up. Then every so often, l take them upstairs in a bag and put them away.

All of them, I live in a bungalow
Day to Day wearing shoes are on a rack in the porch, less worn shoes are in wardrobes.

2 kids and myself.
4 pairs of shoes.
