It has just been raining so hard here that I couldn't hear the radio over the noise!
We were away last week - thankfully a long way north and we seemed to miss most of the rain - although it was colder than average and very windy! Back home everyone was complaining at the amout of rain - the flood barriers had to go up on the river and I couldn't believe how high the river level was when we crossed a bridge over it on our return.
I deliberately didn't do hanging baskets and bedding plants before we went away to save getting anyone in to water them - needn't have worried!
I would really love some sun now - needn't be as warm as last year but a little glipse of the round orange thing would be good!

Stargirl90 · 17/06/2019 14:30

I hope it's coming soon we go to Cornwall on holiday for a week this weekend Gin

rosie1959 · 17/06/2019 14:34

First dry day here for what seems like an age actually have washing out and it's getting dry
More summer please totally fed up with this dank weather
Have you noticed that as we get a bit bit of a glimpse of good weather the tv forecaster takes great pleasure in saying 'but it won't last '
Have been watching the met office forecast looks a bit more hopeful for the end of June early July for the South Would be grateful for this off to Jersey and a smooth crossing would be good!

puppy23 · 17/06/2019 14:43

Its rained every day up north for at least 2 weeks straight now... I can't wait to get to Tenerife in a few days to get away from this

JacquesHammer · 17/06/2019 15:45

Most people don't ever bother to walk to school or nursery because of the rain anyway, so play in it?

No such thing as an “indoor play” at DD’s school so she was used to it.

Darksideofthemoon19 · 17/06/2019 15:46

How far in advance can they actually get the weather right? Because it says 21/22 the week before our wedding and the week of the wedding is rain 😩🙈

rosie1959 · 17/06/2019 16:11

Forecast for up to 5 days usually sort of right
After that all prediction on weather trends and depends which forcast you look at They are very often different

Puzzledandpissedoff · 17/06/2019 16:12

I returned from a cruise around Greece and Italy last Thursday and it's a bit much coming back to this. Obviously nobody would expect their climate here, but just a bit of summer would be nice Sad

FannyFeatures · 17/06/2019 16:15

Oh stop moaning!

Summer was last Thursday, it reached a whopping 14° here 🤣

MinnieMountain · 17/06/2019 17:06

We had a shitty summer last year- DH has major knee surgery in May and as soon as he was off his crutches I was diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer.

We need a proper summer dammit.

MinnieMountain · 17/06/2019 17:06

*had

StayAChild · 17/06/2019 17:15

I have 3 weather apps on my phone. They all say different things even on the day or the hour. The BBC app is the worst of the lot, in my area anyway. You'd think they'd all get their information from the same source.

We were in Devon a couple of weeks ago and DH nearly drove me mad - it will be raining in 90 minutes so we'd better do this/that at such and such a time.I had to tell him to stop with the apps and use his noggin for a change. Grin

bigbluebus · 17/06/2019 18:22

My weather app said no rain here after 4pm - so I pegged my washing out - and the brought it in again half an hour later at 4.30 when it p**d it down. They can't even get it right an hour ahead never mind 2 weeks!

TooManyPaws · 17/06/2019 19:02

Summer hasn't started yet. June 21st.

Yeah, right, that's why the summer solstice is known as MIDsummer's Day and the Winter Solstice as MIDwinter.

Shelbybear · 17/06/2019 19:08

Don't worry it will be back for 2020 😫 I think it's gone before it's even started.

I'm in central Scotland and usually May and June are the best, July and August never tend to be great.

Sitting here in my dressing gown with heating on, it's so wrong! I've bought such lovely clothes for my little girl and she's not had half of it on or only worn once on holiday 😕 not like it will fit next yr.

Lockheart · 17/06/2019 19:35

@TooManyPaws astrological summer starts on 21 June and finishes on 23 September.

Meteorological summer runs 1 June - 31 August.

The 'midsummer' in midsummers day isn't actually in the middle of either, it's just a name.

StayAChild · 18/06/2019 10:19

It's sunny here this morning. According to my trusty apps, there will be no precipitation today until: Apple weather 3pm, Accu weather 5pm, BBC weather 8pm. Take your pick. Grin

northernstars · 18/06/2019 19:33

No rain here today! First day in weeks.

Vibiano · 18/06/2019 19:51

I am not in the UK but in central Europe and it's very warm now. It was 30 today. But, it was cold and miserable until the end of May which is unusual. Then slam! It started getting really hot. I'm guessing the jet stream is in the wrong place and that's why it is raining so much. I visited the UK for a week in February and was walking around in a t shirt the whole week. Then came at Easter with the kids and it was really warm and was wearing summer clothes.
I'm coming back again for a fortnight in August, I'll do my best to bring it over with me again.

Mollypolly2610 · 18/06/2019 20:32

This is Scotland!

Darksideofthemoon19 · 18/06/2019 21:21

Chucking it down here again in the midlands 😩

LesLavandes · 18/06/2019 21:22

mabelsgarden · 18/06/2019 21:40

Midlands here!!!

Had a beautiful, warm (20 C) day today, and NO RAIN. Did 4 loads of washing and it all dried on the line, and I did 3 hours of gardening, and went for a one hour walk!!!

Praise be. Smile

Started raining about 8.30pm though, AND...

Gonna piss down tomoz hahahahahaha!!!

Hmm
Darksideofthemoon19 · 19/06/2019 17:18

It’s really muggy here today, on and off rain. Three weeks until the wedding and I’m seriously panicking

We were looking to move abroad before my Dp got ill.

It was probably more about me leading the planning.

However (although we can’t leave the UK permanently because of dps illness) even he wishes now that we had gone somewhere hot years ago and started a life out of the uk.

Dp lives the cold weather but even he is getting sick of the grey skies
