AIBU-I don't know! Dog owner rude to my child

I went for a walk yesterday with DD and a big barky dog came up to her and jumped up on her. She was very scared and screamed so I had to pick her up. I told her not to worry and that the dog was just saying hello. But she said to me,' Mummy I don't like that dog.' The dog owner looked my daughter in the eye and said,' well I don't like children,'
Should I have said something? I just kept waling but am seething now.

Having a child's eye view of some dog's dribbly mouth and teeth while it woofs in your face is fucking terrifying. The owner should be ashamed of themselves.

That was plain nasty. And unfortunately, a child doesn't forget as easily as you think, @Birdrib ; my DDs and I were confronted by an unpleasant man over a parking issue 3 years ago, and my DDs, who are now 10 and 7, still occasionally mention the 'angry man' when we pass the house where he lives. They're not afraid, but it's stuck with them.

The dog owner here was nasty. Why say anything? The OP had handled the situation, wasn't even complaining. Why take offence at her DD saying that she didn't like the dog?? Very petty at the very least!

Out walking and dog on retractable lead out of control bounding up to use . I put my foot out and it run straight into it let out massive yelp did feel sorry for it but didn't want it near my kids . Owner kicked off big time not my finest moment but all we got was he wouldn't hurt anyone .
Some dog owners are so fucking entitled about there precious pooch they give good responsible owner a bad name.
Why o why don't they realise not every one loves there dog like they do.

No excuse for dog owner to act like that.

Dogs should not be allowed to approach other people.
