What effect does alcohol have on you?

I know it's a weak AIBU

Majority of the time I am left feeling nauseous, slightly uninhibited (sometimes leads to public crying) and lightheaded. Not sure I really get a buzz just a sluggish/murky feeling. Is this a normal experience? It's not particularly pleasant if I'm honest.

I get the ache in thighs too at first but it doesn't last.

I become chatty then go very tired, I hardly ever drink nowadays because I hate the tiredness, I'm on holiday in Cornwall at the moment and have been in the bar every night so far drinking diet coke.
