How much to pay for a window clean on a 3 bed semi detached house.

Hi all, got a window cleaner coming today to clean our average size 3 semi detached house. I know the guy he charges £6 for a clean.

OH thinks that’s a bit cheap and he’s sure they will do a rubbish job. But seems okay to me??

Our windows aren’t overly filthy. Just need a freshen up where we can’t reach safely ourselves.

How much would you expect to pay on a 3 bed house??

We have a 3 bed end terrace with 10 windows and got charged £25 for a first clean and then £20 going forwards. They Use poles rather than ladders but feeling a bit ripped off now.

We pay £7 for a 3 bed semi in the north west. Don’t know how thorough a job they do, they are here about 2 minutes but they seem to have a monopoly on our street and in our town!

diaduittoyou · 10/06/2019 11:43

I paid £8 for 3 bed semi until recently. Now £15 for 5 bed detached with lots of large windows. Think that's reasonable.

SignedUpJust4This · 10/06/2019 12:23

Depends on area I think. We pay 18 for 3 bed detached with quite a large conservatory. I know it's cheaper in Scotland. Why not just see if he does a rubbish job?

Sweetpotatoaddict · 10/06/2019 12:26

£6 for a three bed semi too

happyhillock · 10/06/2019 12:26

I pay £6 every 2 weeks for a 3 bed semi, he does a good job.

motherofcats81 · 10/06/2019 16:30

Blimey I pay 19 for a 2-bed flat in London, though I do have bi-folding doors and some smaller patio doors as well as a skylight. Does that sound like I'm being ripped off?

Sparrowlegs248 · 10/06/2019 16:32

2 bed end terrace, front and back £9.

Morgan12 · 10/06/2019 16:35

How does a 3 bed semi have 18 windows? I can't imagine that at all!

Anyway I'm £5.50 every 2 weeks for 8 windows and 2 doors.

sugarbum · 10/06/2019 16:35

I pay £20. 4 bed detached. about 16 'windows' (that includes two sets of patio doors) I ask them to come once every 2 months.

StoneofDestiny · 10/06/2019 16:37

Depends what area of the country you live. I used to pay £8 for a large detached house in one part of the country and was told a similar sized house would be £25 in another.

Iwantacookie · 10/06/2019 16:38

£7 every 6ish weeks for a 3 bed semi.
We are Midlands don't know if that makes a difference?

My dm pays £20 for a 3 bed detached with conservatory.

twinnywinny14 · 10/06/2019 16:38

I pay £10 for a 3 bed mid terrace so kitchen bay window, front door, 1 bedroom and bathroom at the front then patio doors and 2 bedrooms at the back

BlooperReel · 10/06/2019 16:39

That is cheap, £16 every 4 weeks here. 3 bed semi, 8 windows.

Coffeeisnecessary · 10/06/2019 16:40

I'm feeling ripped off. We pay £30 for a 4 bed in South East from a big company. I need to shop around!!

LoafofSellotape · 10/06/2019 16:40

£15 here , I just wait until it rains.

MancaroniCheese · 10/06/2019 16:42

£12, 3 bed semi, for ten windows, one is a large bay window and a set of patio doors.

TheNoodlesIncident · 10/06/2019 16:43

We pay 15 pounds for a once a month clean, 3 bed semi. They use deionised water (from their van) through hoses and brushes on poles. We have windows that aren't accessible otherwise so it seems worthwhile, although it isn't the cheapest window cleaners we've had.

However they have been by far the best as they clean the window frames as well as the panes. I really loathe looking out or at the windows and seeing grime all over the frames, so it's worth the cost.

Maddiemademe · 10/06/2019 16:44

I pay £10 a month for the front only of a 5 bedroom house (in renovation so no point doing the back). I think there are 12 windows out the front plus the window above the door so yours sounds good to me.

Partridgeamongstthepigeons · 10/06/2019 16:45

£7 for a four bed dormer bungalow in the South East once a month

Mustbetimeforachange · 10/06/2019 16:46

Blimey! £35 here for about 18 windows plus patio doors. Our old one was £15 but he vanished & I couldn't find another one for under £35. Home counties.

Stillneedwillpower · 10/06/2019 16:51

SE, about 3 years ago I was quoted £40 for 2 bed bungalow with 3mx3m half brick height conservatory (3x 1.5m windows, 2x1m windows, 1x 2m patio door, 2 or 3 smaller windows plus 8x1m by 80cm high conservatory windows). That's not even doing it properly, just using those naff poles that don't really clean anything as you can't put any pressure into/behind it.

ibblebibbledibble · 10/06/2019 16:54

Where are all these bargain window cleaners?! Ours is £16 for 3 bed semi.

dementedpixie · 10/06/2019 16:56

£6 for 4 bed detached house with windows on all 4 sides including a front bay window - also Scotland
