Mine are -

Starting to drive off, then putting your seat belt on whilst trying to control the car at the same time. Why? It can't save more than a second, looks awkward, and is dangerous!

Putting bananas into a little plastic bag before putting them in the trolley - the only reason I can see for the plastic bags is to keep loose veg together, or to keep edible parts clean, neither of which applies to bananas, so what's the point?

Taking shopping trollies back to the trolley park but not actually connecting them up with the ones already there - you've done about 95% of the effort, is it really that hard to make someone else's life a bit easier by putting it away properly?

( Yes, mine do seem to be mostly supermarket related but I suppose that's where I come across other people most of the time!)

Actually, I do have one non-supermarket one - people only using one half of a set of double doors when there is a queue of people all wanting to go through - they all line up patiently to go through the one door rather than just OPENING THE OTHER ONE!!

inspired from another thread (about the change of bank holiday date)

people who plan their weddings more than a year in advance.
I love weddings like the next person, mine wasn't specially small, but 2 years ++ to organise what is basically a party? Of course you need to book the place and order things in advance, but who can be bothered to think about a wedding for 2 years or more! It's a DAY.

-People who start thinking about Christmas more than 6 months in advance. It's 1 day. Appreciate what's happening every month, don't waste your life focused on that one day, jeez.

Girlicorne · 09/06/2019 22:36

I second what others have said about filming events on mobile. I was at an 8 hour music event with DD yesterday and the majority of teens around us filmed the whole thing. I don't get it, are they ever going to watch 8 hours back? by the evening they all had their phones hooked up to power banks in their pockets so with the phone and the wire they looked like robots!
Also (probably get flamed for this one and given lots of reasons why she does this) but there is a woman at school who every single morning runs round to breakfast club with her child then runs back to her car. I don't understand why she doesn't just get up 5 minutes earlier? This is after breakfast club has started so its not like she has to drop the child off bang on opening and shoot off to work.

@Graphista

"People that had a relatively stable or privileged upbringing thinking that those that struggle in adult life have brought it on themselves"

wow! That comment on a post where you clearly have no empathy or compassion or understanding of others lived experiences is astoundingly lacking in self awareness, not even a hint of irony!

Are you saying I need to show empathy and understanding to people that wrap bananas in plastic and boast on social media? Shall we weigh those statements up? You sound like you have no concept of the gravity of a poor childhood to even compare my overall post with this one part of it.
I grew up with limited opportunities - despite living in a large house in a wealthy area, we had no money, food was scarce - I grew up with physical, psychological and emotional abuse with an alcoholic parent. Not comparable. I’m empathetic where due! Not for utter bollox. There is no irony, as you’re missing the gravity element in your comparison - I’m very jealous your statement insinuates your life to have been so sheltered.

Roussette · 09/06/2019 22:41

Gwenhwyfar You only seem to come on this thread to quote and disagree with what everyone else has said? It's people's opinions. Which are all different of course.

I can never get why people who go to the cinema, get on the plane for a 2 hour flight, a train journey... they have to eat. I don't understand. Why do people have to eat all the time when travelling or going to the cinema. Unless it's over a meal time of course.

Cryalot2 · 09/06/2019 22:42

Bad manners
Materialism
Dishonesty
Self righteous boasting mum's ( it mostly is mum's,) the ones that insist their child can speak 3 languages at 6 months and how the cleaner will not iron their under wear right .
Social media
People in pjs in the supermarket .

Iwantdoesntget · 09/06/2019 22:46

@Roussette I eat from boredom but I wish I didn’t! I travel for work regularly and gain so much weight... eat at airport, on plane, minibar, UK times meals other time zone means etc. If you can teach me not to do this I’d pay you handsomely! 😂

Roussette · 09/06/2019 22:50

Iwantdoesntget I have to resist or I would be even bigger than I am now and I need to lose weight! I daren't buy the stuff because I just gorge Shock

MorondelaFrontera · 09/06/2019 22:51

My kids, and I, wait until we are sitting in the plane to eat. Keeps them quiet for a little while. They walk around or play in the airport before having to sit still for a few hours. Works well for me!

Inexpertjuggler · 09/06/2019 22:58

People who sit on the train, with every window closed ON A HOT DAY breathing others’ EXHALED AIR. This seriously drives me bonkers. The stuffiness and the heat. And everyone sits there cooking! I often feign faintness / nausea and open every window in sight. The other ( red hot day) a woman got up and said ‘ I’m closing this window, it’s draughty with it open. Nuts! Actually she closed the one above her seat, which, conversely, doesn’t affect her, it’ll be the one opposite. She then proceeded to sit there, with HER HOOD UP in protest.( 8 ppl max in carriage and mainly empty carriages on the train- I’m not saying she should move, but she could have if it really was ‘that bad’ ) I swear- the number of times I’ve politely asked ppl to open the window above their seat and they don’t know how to open a train window. The reason of course for this is that no one ever opens one!

Drogosnextwife · 09/06/2019 23:00

@category12

I don't have sm, but thanks for the unnecessary tip.

BellatrixLeStrangest · 09/06/2019 23:06

People in car parks just wandering behind your car when you're clearly reversing. Then having a go because you've not seen them. Well I am going fucking backwards! Excuse me a moment whilst I peel my eyeballs from my eyes and stick them to my pissing tyres so I can see exactly what the fuck you and your trolley are doing!

BellatrixLeStrangest · 09/06/2019 23:07

I hate people who take pictures of their food. Nobody gives a fuck. Just fucking eat it and stfu

HaroldsSocalledBluetits · 09/06/2019 23:07

I hate fresh air freaks and their dramatic hysteria. OMG a window is closed in an air conditioned carriage in a country that's lucky to get to 22 degrees in the height of summer two days a year. Yeah, fuck off.

HaroldsSocalledBluetits · 09/06/2019 23:11

And if you really are in danger of asphyxia, even though the Aircon won't work if you open a window, just get a handheld fan out of the poundshop and stfu already.

NotVeryChattySchoolMum · 09/06/2019 23:13

Most comments here - I feel like I understand a bit strange things people do. But betting shops- my bafflement is genuine on this one :) They are ubiquitous and every high street has them but I don't know anyone going there.

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 09/06/2019 23:17

Similarly to the fuel pump queuing thing:

I was at an airport last week. Walked up to the e-gates at immigration, and saw a line of about 6 people all in a line behind one gate, despite there being 3 gates with green lights lined up next to them.

Which me and my 2 fellow travellers promptly all stepped up to, and were through and gone with that line still there!

Inexpertjuggler · 09/06/2019 23:29

HaroldsSocalledBluetits- pacers are not air conditioned. Trains with air conditioning have non opening windows. The ones without air conditioning have windows TO OPEN WHEN ITS HOT

Lulu49 · 09/06/2019 23:30

I don’t iron as much as I used to as most stuff will go in dryer but I hate to see kids in obviously un ironed clothes, they just look uncared for

isabellerossignol · 09/06/2019 23:33

This isn't something people do so much as something that the management of a business has clearly decided but ...

Argos fastrack. Pay online and collect in-store without having to queue they say. Yet I've tried it in three different shops now and in each one the fast-track queue is left to wait until the staff have dealt with all the people in the regular queue first. Not exactly beating the queue then after all is it?

poppet31 · 09/06/2019 23:35

Going to do a weekly shop without a list. No idea how anyone who does that has a clue what they're eating that week or what they need.

Manumanadoodoodadoo · 09/06/2019 23:41

People putting their childs birthday photos on facebook with their nane and age. So...... you've just given away yr child's name plus their image plus their d. o. b (sometimes their school too if in uniform) plus if you they have the same surname as you then they have the full name plus if you have yr hometown included then the area they live in! It's called jigsaw identification. Just crazy.

Manumanadoodoodadoo · 09/06/2019 23:44

Also-why do people have to post their holiday photos on fbook whilst they are actually away to show what a great time they are having? If yr having that great a time surely you wouldn't even be thinking about posting on fb? Now THAT I just don't getConfused

Iwantdoesntget · 10/06/2019 00:10

@Manumanadoodoodadoo. Honestly this kind of stuff is historical rubbish. Who cares you have their school, DOB. Have you EVER heard of a child kidnapped to order via a Facebook post? It’s utter shite.
People share their kids photos and schools and age etc but they have it within their circle. Another way to shame a parent it seems.

A paedophile won’t target a kid based on a social media post. They’ll do it based on opportunity. Schools are closed down to opportunity due to extensive safe guarding practises. Parenting laxes are quite different though.

morallybankruptme · 10/06/2019 00:11

notverychattyschoolmum it's kind of taboo 'hush hush' must keep it a secret for lots of people who bet

lhastingsmua · 10/06/2019 00:27

To be fair it’s easy to find someone’s DOB on social media in general, you’ll have the day from birthday greetings and you can probably figure out the year from birthday balloons, messages from milestone birthdays, their life events (graduation etc.)
