Spitting in the toilet

Ragh · 07/06/2019 14:24

We're on holiday at the moment and our 3 year old has recently switched to bloody frozen toothpaste that requires spitting. Obviously at home we're well set up with a box for her to stand on as the sink is too high but haven't brought one with us.

I am happy to lift her to the sink to spit, even though this means our baby will be crawling around the bathroom floor.
DH wants her to spit in the toilet so he can hold the baby.
Both of us are grossed out by the other's method. Who is BU?

Is this a reverse?

SnowyAlpsandPeaks · 07/06/2019 15:36

How about the one holds her and the other keeps the baby out of the bathroom- problem solved. Are you really they dense??

MummyStruggles · 07/06/2019 15:42

I can't understand how this has become such an issue. It'd literally take a couple of seconds to lift DD up to the sink for her to spit it out??

AlexaAmbidextra · 07/06/2019 15:43

Some people. 🙄. I don’t know how they manage to function day to day. I really don’t.

MsChookandtheelvesofFahFah · 07/06/2019 16:16

So he can hold the baby while the child spits in the toilet but the baby has to crawl on the floor if the child spits in the sink? Have I got this right and also that there are two functioning adults?

Billballbaggins · 07/06/2019 16:17

What the fuck 🤣

MsChookandtheelvesofFahFah · 07/06/2019 16:19

Just re-read that dh is 'grossed out' by child being lifted to the sink to spit but it's ok at home because the child stands on a box to do it? Confused

freshstartnewme · 07/06/2019 16:20

Is this a reverse?

A reverse how? OP is actually the toothpaste?

Mia1415 · 07/06/2019 16:23

Both of you are BU for not being able to resolve this yourselves!

In the nicest possible way, how do you deal with actual problems.

Reallybadidea · 07/06/2019 16:26

You're going to have to explain where the grossness comes in with both options, because I don't understand either of your points of view at all.

SilverySurfer · 07/06/2019 16:43

You're both batshit.

Why does the baby have to be in the bathroom at all and if it is, why is it a problem if it crawls on the floor.

I assume if you vomit, you do it in the loo and not the sink so what's the difference between vomitting and spitting in the loo.

Both grow up.

notso · 07/06/2019 16:48

Are there any adults there to resolve this massive problem for you?

WreckingIt · 07/06/2019 16:50

I'm baffled.
One adult stays in a room with baby, other adult stays in bathroom while older child spits toothpaste into the loo.
Do i win a prize for solving the rocket science question?

zingally · 07/06/2019 16:51

Why is this so hard to work out? One holds the baby, the other holds the toddler so they can spit in the sink, or into a cup, or anything really.

Or why do they need to be brushing their teeth at the exact same moment anyway? Put the baby in their cot or buggy, if it takes 2 of you to successfully brush a toddlers teeth.

If you can't figure this out... How on earth did you even manage to conceive twice?

Usuallyinthemiddle · 07/06/2019 16:59

How gave you got this far through life? Do you hold both children a of the time normally??

HomeMadeMadness · 07/06/2019 17:01

I skim read your post and thought you were suggesting that she take the baby into the bathroom for the older child to kneel on

Problem solved. Baby will be immobilised while older child can reach the sink!

PositiveVibez · 07/06/2019 17:03

Bloody hell. Can't believe you managed to book a holiday tbh 🤣

Yesicancancan · 07/06/2019 17:05

I can not work out what’s the biggest laugh here, why spitting in the toilet is any issue at. all.
People actually posting suggestions to overcome this crazy problem

DesperadoDan · 07/06/2019 17:07

Put the baby in the bath and pick your toddler up or have baby on your hip holding with one arm and grab toddler round middle and pick up.
I wish I had your problems. God forbid you should ever have any real ones.

DesperadoDan · 07/06/2019 17:07

Are you a millennial by any chance op?

Fartymcnarty · 07/06/2019 17:08

Tell us some more of your difficult life issues please!!!

Seriously though, you should pack up and go home!! I’m surprised your parents allowed you on holiday without a responsible adult to take care of you!

Bloody kids!

DontCallMeShitley · 07/06/2019 17:08

Bloody hell. Can't believe you managed to book a holiday tbh

I am actually wondering how the OP managed to even get pregnant.

werideatdawn · 07/06/2019 17:09

How have you survived into adulthood?

AintNobodyHereButUsChickens · 07/06/2019 17:10

Why is he grossed out by you picking her up to spit in the sink? Confused

Why are you grossed out by her spitting into the toilet? It's not like she's going to be licking the seat Confused

There are 2 adults, why does one of you not look after the baby while the other sorts the 3yo out?

CloserIAm2Fine · 07/06/2019 17:20

Do these children have any functioning adult parents at all? If you and your DP can’t solve this non-issue between you then hopefully soon your three year old will be more sensible than her parents and able to take over these difficult problems for you

Seriously, there’s two kids and two adults. One adult with each child means no babies need to crawl around the toilet. And there’s really no issue with spitting toothpaste into the toilet as long as she doesn’t dive in headfirst, which presumably she won’t because there’s an adult supervising her.
