To ask DH to sort his body hair

DroningOn · 06/06/2019 22:39

DH has a hairy belly and chest and I'm sick of finding hair in the bed.

It pokes out of the neck of anything he wears except a buttoned up shirt and tie and gathers all the lint off the inside of his tshirts and it collects in his belly button.

New tshirts are the worst, especially those of a contrasting colour - nothing worse than seeing him climbing into bed with a wad of red fluff in his navel.

Might grow out my pubes and bikini line in protest. Grin

Ffs. If you didn't like his hair then why get with him.

Horsemenoftheaclopalypse · 07/06/2019 03:22

he is like my own little bear
Yes!!!!! Mine too 😍 I brush/groom him sometimes 😂😂😂

@OP - no judgement from me only sympathy.
Until I started dating my DP I hadn’t realised what an issue/how insanely annoying the excess body hair can be.
It’s on the bed, the dresser, the windowsill, the carpet, on his jumper, on my jumper!? on the sofa, somehow still on every surface in the bathroom even after cleaning...
I once found one IN my lunch box FFS 🤷‍♀️

I have no advice other than to roll with it...I’ve just acquiesced to it and accepted we are a “hairy house” 😂 and this is my awesome albeit hair filled life now

Conks · 07/06/2019 05:50

My DH trims for me. Looks much better

SuchAToDo · 07/06/2019 05:57

Imagine if this was a post from a man saying he wanted his wife to sort out her body hair, he would be torn to shreds by posters

Op your husbands body hair is a normal natural part of his body, whether he chooses to remove it is up to him, he may not wànt to have razor born and stubble or use hair removal creams and waxes that may irritate his skin..if you are that wound up over a bit of hair then you need to take a deeper look àt yourself and your mar

SuchAToDo · 07/06/2019 05:59

I’m sure you will both be much happier on your own

Phoningliz · 07/06/2019 06:33

As a hairy bloke, I would say most of us dislike being hairy. But it is so so time consuming to get rid of that much hair!

Really? You must tell us more about spending time and money removing body hair.

OnlineAlienator · 07/06/2019 06:36

Lol phoningliz

OP YABU

You should be able to discuss body hair. When I met my DH he was so hairy friends had teased him for years about it. He mentioned it bugged him and so I offered to help him groom.

He now asks me regularly to help him when it gets too shaggy.

Even with grooming he is still a very hairy man which I love, but I just told him that if it got to a point where I couldn't see his penis then it would reduce the number of BJs he got. Funnily enough he said vice versa and now we both have a deal to keep it under control so we both get more of what we like!

BillThePony · 07/06/2019 06:59

My husband is massively hairy, yes the shedding is bloody annoying but I would ask him to defluff anymore than he would demand I shave my legs.

BillThePony · 07/06/2019 07:00

*wouldn't

user1480880826 · 07/06/2019 07:02

Imagine if this was a post by a man complaining about his female partners body hair. He would be shot down.

Body hair is normal. Waxing and shaving is not.

Bluerussian · 07/06/2019 07:05

Nothing wrong with a hairy man.

Peachsummer · 07/06/2019 07:06

I have a hairy DH. I don’t mind chest hair - it’s the back hair I find gross and embarrassing. He wont go swimming because of it but expects me to see and touch it every day. He refuses to wax it because he doesn’t care about being attractive.

TemporaryPermanent · 07/06/2019 07:09

God you lucky thing, I adore hairy men. Mmm.

AdoreTheBeach · 07/06/2019 07:12

I feel your pain op - hairs everywhere (thankfully don’t have the belly button issue). I loved my DH hairy chest when I met him 30 plus years ago. But it’s no longer just hairy chest. The body hair everywhere and is soooo long. I’d love for him to at least trim some of it as very long. I know he’ll be much cooler too in the summer (especially down below, underarms and back as hair is quite long).

I don’t say anything though as I don’t want to upset him. I do wish there were adverts for men trimmers (not shaving, just to tidy up).

DonnaDarko · 07/06/2019 07:13

I think YABU, surely you knew about the hair before you chose to spend your life with him 😂

I only ever shave my armpits these days. I wouldn't let DP dictate my body hair choices lol.

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 07/06/2019 07:20

I can understand where you’re coming from OP my DH would be hairy but the main difference I guess is he himself doesn’t like it so does something about it. I have never asked him to he does it because he wants to and it prefers less hair. For someone who said would you prefer a ken TOWIE type then I didn’t think occasionally trimming body hair does that. My DH is very much a ‘normal bloke’ whatever that is I guess. He trims with hair clippers all over and has his back waxed every 5 weeks or so. Just like I shave my legs and arm pits and have a bikini wax out of my own choice.

Would he ever comment on your body hair OP?

Paddington68 · 07/06/2019 07:24

Sounds hot, photo?

Lovemusic33 · 07/06/2019 07:26

YABVU
I love body hair on men 😁

FamilyOfAliens · 07/06/2019 07:30

Did it only start to grow after you’d got married, OP?

origamiunicorn · 07/06/2019 07:32

His body his choice. Imagine it flipped the other way around.

BarbarianMum · 07/06/2019 07:32

Wtf would you marry a hairy man if you don't like hairy men? You remind me of an ex boyfriend who used to tell me how much he liked straight hair on women (my hair is very curly). Hmm

ComeAndDance · 07/06/2019 07:37

YABU you can’t ask ANYONE to cut any hair out. Their body, their choice.

You can aak him about. Cleanliness issues such as lint in his belly button..
