I don't have a hot tub. But all the people talking about how gross they are do you not know you put cleaning fluid such as chlorine in them?

stucknoue · 31/05/2019 09:11

I spied an inflatable hot tub box in my neighbours recycling this week! We have really long gardens she has power at the bottom so hoping that's the location.

PeachesAndMayo · 31/05/2019 09:23

Accidentally knock a plugged in radio into the tub. That'll fix it.

PeachesAndMayo · 31/05/2019 09:24

Yes, even if you have to get the extension cord from the garage! That'll give you fifty feet of throw. Just tell the police you needed the extension because you had to move rooms due to the noise...

Ledkr · 31/05/2019 09:25

I don't get the hit tub hate on here. We have one and it's more like a glorified paddling pool for the kids.
I bought I last year after years of blowing up the paddling pool then kids not going in it as too cold, endless kettles of water to warm it up, then the weather changes, then the kids refuse to use it the next day as it had three blades of grass in it.
I fill ours and it heats up and filters the water as well as the chemicals keep it as clean as your local swimming pool.

We don't have sex in it or use it very Late at night, we don't even put the bubbles on after 8 in case people are sitting in their gardens and the noise is annoying.

We get lots of enjoyment out if it.

FriarTuck · 31/05/2019 09:29

Nip round while they're out and it's switched off, then add the washing up liquid. That way they might just think it's malfunctioning next time they switch it on and never use it again while having no idea it's you behind it.
(Loved the seagull idea!)

TixieLix · 31/05/2019 09:41

Send off for one of these Grin

fecketyfeck21 · 31/05/2019 09:46

even with cleaning chemicals they still sound grim and chavvy. that aside one thing i really want to know is that if you need to pee would you seriously get out dripping wet and tramp through your house for the loo ? it's so gross to think about,i don't even like swimming pools and hate baths for that matter.

Ledkr · 31/05/2019 11:46

Facety. Why are they chavvy? What a stupid thing to say.
Are paddling pools also chavvy? How about a trampoline or a bbq?
Yes so chavvy to enjoy your garden 😳

LadyRannaldini · 31/05/2019 11:58

Plant something very prickly near the fence if it's one of those plastic things, preferably that's very smelly.
Gregorian chants, very loud can be hard on the ears.
Failing that, bow and arrow, shotgun, at the hot tub not the occupants.

justilou1 · 31/05/2019 15:34

Do you have little kids? I’m sure they need to learn to play the recorder - outside.

mintyneb · 31/05/2019 15:38

You're lucky you just had to put up with music and chat. We often get our neighbours shagging loudly in theirs at 2 or 3am!

Honeyroar · 31/05/2019 15:54

Fecktyfeck I imagine people would dry themselves with a towel before they tramp through the house to the loo. Doesn't take that much working out, surely. 😜

CitadelsofScience · 31/05/2019 16:07

The responses on here are brilliant Grin I've been reading them out to my dh because we have neighbours with a sex pond and I'm going to fucking well torch it, the noise when they have the bastard bubbles on is just appalling. They should be banned along with trampolines.

BettyCrockaShit · 31/05/2019 16:11

@TixieLix I have one of those 'orrible foam poos! I hide it around the flat for my boyfriend to find. I like to think a defining moment in our relationship was when I smuggled it into his hand luggage for a work trip around Europe. (Luckily he and his workmates thought it was funny.) That plastic poo is now better travelled than I am and will feature in all future holiday photos!

Chottie · 31/05/2019 16:27

This is hilarious, especially the seagull and yogurt comments :)

Cheeseandwin5 · 31/05/2019 16:33

Why dont you close your window and try and find better things to occupy your mind

Sweetpea55 · 31/05/2019 16:37

You mum's have got me howling with laughter here. 😂

CaptainofmyownShip · 31/05/2019 16:42

Viewed a house recently that ticked all the boxes. That is until I spotted, from an upstairs window, next door's hot tub parked up right up against said houses's fence. Total deal-breaker.

Laiste · 31/05/2019 18:37

I think the question 'why are they chavy' is a really good one, and l think it's the hugeness of the difference between the original concept vs the reality if you're Jo Average.

  • purpose built spa lodge with cedar decking sporting large automated jacuzzi. Overlooking the pool, sweeping lawns or a sea view
  • heated paddling pool jammed up against the fence and buzzing away (not too far from Fido's usual poo area) in a garden too small to ever get the thing far enough away to stop the racket from everyone quashed into it annoying the neighbors.
TrixieFranklin · 31/05/2019 18:40

Agreed - there's two types of Hot tubs

To be annoyed my neighbour is in her hot tub
To be annoyed my neighbour is in her hot tub
Honeyroar · 31/05/2019 18:42

Yes I think that's it Laiste. They're not chavvy, it's just that some people use them antisocially.

Walkingthere · 31/05/2019 19:14

They are also terrible for the environment. Very baby boomer to have one in the garden.

bluebeck · 31/05/2019 19:16

Vile sex ponds.

Torch it.

Obviouspretzel · 31/05/2019 19:20

So really what we are saying here is that you should only have one if you've got the money to have a more tasteful model?

It's very fashionable on here to say phrases like chlamydia soup and sex pond as if you invented them. It's not original or funny.
