To actually consider I could be pregnant 8 weeks after having baby?

Baby born April 2nd. 22nd May got what seemed to be first period, but it didn't last as long as normal (I read it's normal for them to change pp though).

About a week (give or take) beforehand, dtd twice and he pulled out, and once dtd no pulling out. The day after the suspected period had finished (26th May) also dtd no pulling out (sorry for details).

Tuesday night I felt sick when I woke up, like I was going to be sick (I sleep evenings so night is my morning). This morning (now) I feel nausea again.

I am probably just overly paranoid because with my first pregnancy nausea was the first symptom and it started pretty much immediately after conception. Also I noticed a 'difference' in the smell of dh's tobacco (which was just increased sense of smell) and lately I can smell his tobacco when it's in the pouch a couple of feet away.

If it wasn't for the suspected period I would feel a lot more sure I was pregnant. I feel too sick to proof read this I hope it makes sense!

I don't think I would come back if I were the OP, lots of harsh comments on here

stucknoue · 30/05/2019 19:50

My cousin got pregnant 8 weeks after giving birth, she terminated though as she already had two under 2. She got the implant the following week

quince2figs · 30/05/2019 19:51

Thanks Will!

CobaltRose96 · 30/05/2019 19:53

Yes, you definitely could be pregnant. You’re very fertile after giving birth and ‘pulling out’ is not effective contraception.

Some very harsh and uncalled for comments on here.

DeadDoorpost · 30/05/2019 19:59

There's 11 months between DSis and Dbro... DM finished her pp bleeding, had a period then got pregnant. Dbro was then 11 days early and so the calculations put him as being conceived within 8 weeks. DM only ever had pp bleeding for 4 weeks max after giving birth, and even less after Dbro when she almost haemmoraged due to incompetent midwife.
FWIW DM wanted kids close together. They advised her against it after those two.

Hope you find out soon.

HootsBootsShoots · 30/05/2019 22:41

Good luck whatever OP x

Whatthehell2019 · 30/05/2019 22:55

2 of my children are in the same school year.... One September born and the other August. First shag after giving birth I got pregnant. I still hate my husband for it 🤣

Whatthehell2019 · 30/05/2019 22:56

Ps. Everyone assumes they're twins. When anyone learns that they are not twins, I get the raised eyebrows as they consider what we were up to so soon after giving birth Hmm

tor8181 · 31/05/2019 00:47

i know someone who got pregnant within the week after she had her baby she had 2 babies in 8 months as 2nd one came early

Thismummyruns · 31/05/2019 03:23

Another shamelessly following for the result.

Hats off to you OP, I'm 2 weeks PP with my 2nd, after this half term with a 5 YO and a newborn, I consider that as my contraception Grin

PleaseGoToSleeep · 31/05/2019 03:45

Wow I'm not surprised she's not been back Shock
OP I love my small age gaps between all of mine, and have managed to be pregnant every year since 2013 GrinGrin
Hope you're okay Thanks

b0bb1n · 31/05/2019 03:52

Wow I can't believe how big this thread has got! Thanks again to all for your lovely and helpful comments. Smile

I'm afraid I'm still none the wiser as I didn't get the chance to get a test. I want to take it in secret so if it were positive I can surprise DH. I have 8 week check at Dr tomo so hopefully can get a test while me and bub are out. At this stage I've been thinking so much about it I think I'd be disappointed if it was negative! Grin

Not sure if it would be too early to test tho?

Wow lots of lovely examples here of siblings close in age. I think that would be so amazing. So much baby fever now!

It always amazes me, actually astounds me, tat women have unprotected sex, then starts a thread... do you think I could be pregnant Hmm

If you think you are, take a test, as there is absolutely no way someone in the internet can give you the answer.

BusterGonad · 31/05/2019 05:02

HaudYerWheeshtYaWeeBellend but that's no fun though is it?

b0bb1n · 31/05/2019 05:20

Haud the issue as I stated earlier is regarding the suspected af, not the possibility of just becoming pregnant. Hmm

You sound happy op. I hope you get the result you want Flowers

Torple · 31/05/2019 05:57

My brother is ten months younger than me. So, yes.

BenWillbondsPants · 31/05/2019 06:06

Hope you get the result you want OP, keep us posted.

Ferii · 31/05/2019 06:15

POAS, very interested to hear your results. Either way look in to reliable contraception and encourage your partner to give up smoking as a priority.

gubbsywubbsy · 31/05/2019 06:23

Let us know when you have tested ?

BigRedBoat · 31/05/2019 06:34

If you're going to the doctors they might test you then?

b0bb1n · 31/05/2019 06:43

Would the doctor have a pee test I can use or would he do a blood test? And how long do the results take? I'm so so so eager to know but I think it might be too early for a pee test for the results to be accurate.

OP posts:
ImFreeToDoWhatIWant · 31/05/2019 06:51

Generally your GP is highly unlikely to have a pee test to hand, it's not standard nhs practise these days and will be cheaper for you to buy direct than for the nhs to supply. They'll just tell you to buy a test on your way home.

Just go to the shop!
