Ooh are they any good for hard floors?

SorryDidISayThatOutLoud · 29/05/2019 14:24

I loved my Shark but then after a few weeks it started giving me problems and stopped sucking as well. I bought a GTech AirRam on impulse and now so I much prefer it!

BobbinThreadbare123 · 29/05/2019 14:25

The cleaner at work recommended the Shark, especially if you have pets. I may have to kill my Dysons off...

TeddiesAreTakingOver · 29/05/2019 14:26

I’ve got the Shark DuoClean Cordless, which is good, but I’ve just bought the corded one because I keep hearing how much better the corded one is, so I’m excited to try it when it arrives!

MrsMaow · 29/05/2019 14:28

Oooh I want a new hoover, but don’t know whether to get a shark one or the g-tech air thing. Both adverts have me almost convinced

Isatis · 29/05/2019 14:29

I tried a Dyson once, never again. It was incredibly badly designed and kept getting blocked so you had to take it apart to get to the stupid narrow bit of bendy plastic where the blockages happened.

What model of Shark have you got, OP?

PetrichorRain · 29/05/2019 14:35

DH has been drooling over one of these. We have cats and their fluff is everywhere, no matter how many times we dyson...

U2HasTheEdge · 29/05/2019 14:36

I need a new one that works well for animal hair on the sofa and hard floors.

Any recommendations?

LadyRannaldini · 29/05/2019 14:38

Slightly off topic but all the cordless things will look less attractive when the battery needs to be replaced. We bought a cordless garden strimmer and when the battery needed replacing it would have cost 3x the original thing!

TheSheepHaveEyes · 29/05/2019 14:41

I ditched Dyson in favour of a Shark too. I love my Shark! Best vac I've ever had!

Best purchase ever.

I always had dysons, but this beats it hands down. I have 2 cats and this is the only hoover that has picked up all their hairs. Love it.

RomanyQueen1 · 29/05/2019 14:43

Vacuum a patch of carpet with your old vacuum, then go back over it with the shark and just see how much the shark picks up! It's amazing!!

I'm sure it is amazing, but you do know you can do this with any two vacuum cleaners?

hellenbackagen · 29/05/2019 14:50

blatent place mark!

notso · 29/05/2019 14:56

YABU robot vacuums are where it's at, Eufy is the new love of my life!

PeoniesarePink · 29/05/2019 15:00

I LOVE mine!!! It's so easy to clean, all the filters are washable, it's fantastic. Our carpets look fab and it's just as good on the hard floors.

We had 3 Dysons over 10 years and this knocks spots of them.

Sunshineandshowers81 · 29/05/2019 15:01

They are great but we have had to have so many parts replaced on the year we have had it so far. Not great lasting at all

ethelfleda · 29/05/2019 15:03

I thought you were going to say ‘after quitting my job’ Grin

ethelfleda · 29/05/2019 15:03

Haha!

BigRedLondonBus · 29/05/2019 15:05

I might have to get one.

I need a new hoover. I have a Henry and hate it, they always seem to be highly rate though but I think they are rubbish

HollowTalk · 29/05/2019 15:11

Is anyone else shocked to find themselves thinking, "Hmm THAT sounds good"?

4cheekymonkey · 29/05/2019 15:16

Mookie81 sure! I ll be selling the old one definitely! Just wanted to sounds dramatic! Grin as to how good it is on hard floor, I haven't tried it yet

I love my Dyson cordless. Truly life changing!

eggsandwich · 29/05/2019 15:18

I felt the same recently when I got a sebo it’s fantastic way better than dyson.

Rafflesway · 29/05/2019 15:19

For those interested, I have the cordless true pet Shark Liftaway - I don't have any pets. It was a free upgrade from Shark - and I love mine!

5 year guarantee on the machine/2 year guarantee on the battery. Replacement batteries at full price are £99 when finally needed.

I had a GTech Pro before and it was terribly unreliable. Had 3 batteries in 5 weeks before finally returning for a refund.

I have had the Shark 9 months and not a hiccup to date. Suction still as good as day one. Smile
