Toddlers can be horrific, can't they?

Argh! This is the worst possible stage.

Newborn was amazing. Small baby amazing. Sitting up and early Walker baby also amazing.

Now he's a toddler and good Christ, this is hard.

Biting. Scratching. Tantrums. Never ever happy.

He also seems behind to some toddlers, although he started walking at 8.5 months. He still very much looks like a baby, and doesn't really speak apart from Mummy and No.

"Mummy no" being the ultimate combo of choice.

And the escaping! He escapes all cots, so can't have a cot now. He escapes car seats, had to find one that he can't actually escape from. We have 3 kinds of pushchair and he can escape both.

Escapes high chair and seats. Can't turn my eyes for a single second or he will climb out and potentially kill himself.

It's so frustrating. So either let him on the floor to cause havoc 24/7 or keep telling him to stop and keep putting him back wherever he's strapped into.

Also refusing to sleep until a ridiculous time in the evening, meaning no time for me or DH. Just constant screaming if he isn't allowed up. I tried seeing how it played out, he kept on for 2 whole hours before.

Someone send help in the form of alcohol

I have an 18 month old and an 8 week old. The toddler is waaaay harder.

I will freely admit I HATE the age of 3!!! Wrecks my head!! Although my 6 yr old drove me crazy this evening too... I think I have to say everything 10 times!!! It’s so draining sometimes I think I could cry! 😭😭

Whatafustercluck that is soooo like my DD, she is not even 2 and chooses what to wear and will scream the house down if you choose something she doesn’t like.

I thought my lovely, sweet, kind 18 month old was leaning in for a kiss before bedtime when she clasped my face with her little paws and smiled like an angel at me... oh no!!! Oh no no no no no!

She bit me bloody hard on the fucking nose and laughed manically whilst I tried to wipe the tears from my eyes... then she grabbed my face and started manically rocking to from side to side, whilst cackling... I think I have a psychopath on my hands...

Clearly her bloodlust sated for the time being, she didn't then go to sleep until about 20 mins ago. Clearly desperate for more of my actual life blood. Little git. She's bloody lucky she is cute!

I’m one of the lucky ones that had a dream baby and now have a dream toddler. I feel like I gave birth to a ready made old lady who knows the world already. When she sees other kids tantrumming she looks at them like ‘wtf are you doing mate?’ She’s 4 going on 84.

I’ve been lucky so far but I get the feeling she’s going to be an absolute arsehole of a teenager.

@SoCallMeMaybe, I can’t believe you’d joke about selling your toddler on eBay!

You made him or her... go for etsy ;)

Dcs were pretty ok as toddlers probably why I ended up with 3dcs[embarrassed]
However dd2 was a nightmare between ages 13-17!...she's now 22 and a lovely human being again Grin
