I think Iris and Violet are lovely names.

TheWernethWife · 26/05/2019 15:25

Saw a lady with two beautiful girls, called Ethel and Olive, wtf did she call them such ugly names.

qj17 · 26/05/2019 15:27

Iris olivia or ivy olivia

wildbhoysmama · 26/05/2019 15:34

All lovely choices. Interestingly, does it need to be another girl's name for the middle name? I've given all my DC my surname as their middle name (not changed mine but if you have use your maiden name?).

seesawteddy · 26/05/2019 16:00

Iris Olivia is lovely
Ivy Bluebell too many plants.

@1Willow23
In that case, why don#t you consider Iris with a second name that starts with 'H' so it secretly forms 'Irish' when read together?

Iris Helena
Iris Hannah

Or, and I know this is more abstract, but why not choose an Irish (Gaelic) first name in a metaphorical to your 'Irish' grandparents:

Saoirse Rea (I think this sounds really cool)
Saoirse Grace
Aoife May (just came to me for some reason, but I like it)
Randomly just came to me riffing off the last one: Eva May

FloatingObject · 26/05/2019 18:04

Metaphorical nod, that was supposed to read!

Gth1234 · 26/05/2019 19:16

Iris, if you don't mind Irish as a nickname.,

Milly345 · 26/05/2019 19:25

Emilia grace. Don’t like willow or iris . Your baby see what she looks like. She may come out and be a Leni or a Leila 😀

Whatsername7 · 26/05/2019 19:30

I have a 'Willow'. She is quite possibly the post wilful child I've ever met - my mum thinks there was something in the name! It suits her though. My other dds are called Phoebe and Trixie. From your list, I like Iris and, obviously, I like Willow. Iris Helena is a great suggestion.

AnnieMay100 · 26/05/2019 19:31

Why not consider mixing a combination of your favourites like ivy Olivia iris not too keen on the others sorry

1Willow23 · 26/05/2019 19:38

Husband loves Eva 😊.... he’s not keen on any of my options 🙄 my other two daughters names just came to me, this is proving a little more challenging.

Why on earth has no one suggested Balonz? You could also opt for the more feminine Balonza

carmelsundae · 26/05/2019 19:44

Iris Olivia would get my vote too... I love the name Iris! It's a team in my work that we refer to though so felt wrong calling my daughter that!

Kanga83 · 26/05/2019 19:52

Go with Iris. What were your grandparents names? Could they be incorporated into a middle name? For example my girls middle names are a feminine form of my grandads and a blended name of my other grandma and hubbys grandma and my boys is the male form of my grandmas.

I love the names iris and Ivy.

BenWillbondsPants · 26/05/2019 19:59

Iris Olivia is really lovely.

Mascarponeandwine · 26/05/2019 20:00

Emilia for sure. Emilia Grace would be nice. But yes see what she looks like first!

ShoshanaC · 26/05/2019 20:20

Why not use Erin as a nod to the Irish name of your grandparents?

Pa1oma · 26/05/2019 21:06

Eva (Or Evie) or Ava are similar-sounding to Ivy, I think, but a bit softer and without an obvious connotation to a plant?

wildbhoysmama · 27/05/2019 13:47

That is, indeed, a lovely tribute to your grandparents, so Iris is perfect. I completely get it, my youngest has my mam's maiden name (Lauchlan as a variant of McLauchlan but still a name that is used as a first name here in Scotland.) It is now even more special as my mam is not with us anymore.

If DH not too keen let him have some leeway with the middle name?

Bluesheep8 · 27/05/2019 15:37

Wait until you meet her to decide. A friend of mine had chosen a name for a boy and a girl and stuck with them throughout her pregnancy. Gave birth to a baby girl and called her something completely different as she felt the name she had chosen didn't suit her. The name she chose had never been mentioned before.

Darkstar4855 · 27/05/2019 15:42

Eva Iris? Something in there for both of you.

Iris Olivia / Iris Emilia / Iris Grace all nice too.
