To wonder if Prince George's body guards get bored spending every day at Primary school

Firstly I'm assuming Prince George has body guards with him at all times including during school hours. Do you think after a while it gets a bit boring especially spending all week at a Primary school, I mean what do they do all day? I guess they rotate days with guarding other royals for some variety. Do the royals ever have any privacy to themselves or is there always someone standing guard outside the door (and listening to arguments!) even at home?

I've often wondered how this works day to day.
I believe Diana used to give hers the slip from time to time. What happened when William went to Uni?

HeddaGarbled · 25/05/2019 02:00

I should imagine that once they are in the secure environment of their homes, there is no need to have someone outside the door of the specific room they are in. No idea what happens at school though.

RubberTreePlant · 25/05/2019 02:51

I have a feeling they have a designated room within the school.

HennyPennyHorror · 25/05/2019 02:54

The school will have a lot of security cameras and the bodyguards will either watch monitors inside the schools or some will be posted outside the classroom door at all times.

I am sure I heard that his security officer took the degree too, and did better than pw. The total family have dismal academic attainment

That urban legend is actually about Prince Charles at Cambridge!

Arlenia · 25/05/2019 03:38

And it’s not actually true, though it is a very fun story.

You source hello magazine!!

I like to think the bodyguard is taking part in the full and varied curriculum, including French and ballet. Especially if he's a 6' ex military man. Wink

floribunda18 · 25/05/2019 04:35

Ha ha, yes. And has to sit in a tiny chair.

Of all the boring/stressful security jobs, I imagine this one is rather nice.

Nquartz · 25/05/2019 04:56

I.don't think i would mind going to primary school again, DD seems to have fun Grin i would want a full size chair though!

minou123 · 25/05/2019 04:56

Um, this is going to sound a little conceited, I had bodyguards growing up. (I'm not anybody famous, though Grin)

In my experience, when we were out and about, they had to be on constant alert so didnt get bored.

I did ask if they were bored w

minou123 · 25/05/2019 05:00

Sorry, pressed too soon Blush

I did ask if they were bored when I was at home, school etc, but they assured me they had constant security checks to do and also plan for future scheduled outings.

They also told me they enjoyed being my bodyguard because I was no bother, but not sure I believe them on that one Smile

olderthanyouthink · 25/05/2019 05:04

minou diplomas child?

minou123 · 25/05/2019 05:08

olderthanyouthink yep!

HermioneMakepeace · 25/05/2019 05:30

Our local ‘posh’ school has 275 CCTV cameras and 2 full-time detectives. I imagine it’s a similar set up at Thomas’s.

HermioneMakepeace · 25/05/2019 05:32

@minou123, that’s really interesting. Where did you grow up, if you don’t mind me asking?

DXBMermaid · 25/05/2019 05:52

I like to think of them mucking in. A bit like Arnie in Kindergarten Cop.
I love the image of these huge guys sitting in the tiny chairs helping George stick on googly eyes 😂

minou123 · 25/05/2019 05:56

HermioneMakepeace - I'm going to try not to be too outing Smile

We moved countries every 4 years, so when people ask where I am from, it's quite difficult. My parents like to pick non European places where they thought it would be more interesting for work. For example, I was born in Syria and grew up in countries in Asia, Africa and south America.

HermioneMakepeace · 25/05/2019 06:08

@minou123 How amazing! What’s an interesting life for a child. You were very lucky.

SnugglySnerd · 25/05/2019 06:14

Primary schools always need people to hear children read, maybe they do that Grin

floraloctopus · 25/05/2019 06:17

They'll spend ages sticking work into books and putting up displays.

LittleKitty1985 · 25/05/2019 06:19

@minou123 If you don't mind me asking, how do think your unusual upbringing has affected you psychologically as an adult?

minou123 · 25/05/2019 06:20

HermioneMakepeace thank you. I loved my childhood, I think its given me a great perspective of the world.

Only glitch is, my place of birth is Syria and under the current climate, this causes me a few issues.

Cruddles · 25/05/2019 06:25

I heard the guards go around beating up the other kids for their lunch money
