Approaching 30 and I have been dealing with a bad period of anxiety over the last 12 months, I have really been trying to improve my general happiness, health and wellbeing and thought I would share my activities etc to help others!

I will start:

  1. I treated myself to an essential oil diffuser with a kit of essential oils and each night I diffuse oils such as lavender to relax and keep calm.
  2. My showers now consist of putting the plug in and dropping a few drops of peppermint and eucalyptus... which is heaven! I feel like I am in a spa.
  3. With the help of mumsnetters I created a happy cheery spotify playlist, I try and play this most mornings on the way to work...lots of solo karaoke sessions are carried out!
  4. I invested in some natural sets of shampoo and conditioner that smell lush and it feels like a treat washing my hair. (I use maui if anyone is interested, purchased from boots!)
  5. I used to be so poor with my skincare and now I am obsessed! Spf 40 every day and I have started cleaning and moisturising my skin with natural oils (such as coconut oil, sweet almond, pomegranate oil!)
  6. Calamine tea before bed, I purchased a delicious twinings pack with spiced apple, vanilla and passionflowets... yum!

Things I would like to improve on...

  1. I am quite lazy and really need to start doing more exercise!
  2. Eating healthier and less sugary snacks and desserts
  3. Looking for inspiration from this thread!

Thank you for reading and looking forward to seeing your responses =)

Activities - horse riding, dog walking, beach and associated pets that enable the activities)
Things that make me happy - robo vac, ladder into roof, red coffee maker (matching red toaster and red jug), my new flooring, repainting the entire inside of my unit 4 years ago, my coat rack (a gorgeous wire corset)

You can get mutes for violins, and headphones for electric violins :)

@cryalot2 what charity are you making hats for? I want to join in!

To the person who asked, ASMR videos are on YouTube. Have a look and find yourself nodding off to sleep and feeling lovely and calm.

I play in a samba band. Banging on a drum is very therapeutic!
Also, I am not at all musical by nature which means I have to concentrate bloody hard at it, and therefore am unable to give any attention to worries/negative thoughts/stress.
There's also a kind of energy about it that just makes you feel better about everything.

I love going to the gym, I go 4-5 times a week but would go every day if I could! 🏋️‍♂️

I also love sitting in a clean and tidy house (sad I know!) and getting into bed when the bedding has been freshly washed and ironed 🙄

That cold glass of wine on a Friday night comes a close second though! 🥂

My horse, she’s my therapy, my exercise, my social life, my oxygen.

I quite literally think horses should be on the nhs.

Martial Arts classes are my favourite thing, with my family and dogs a close second. I'm in Karate, and only just started a week ago, so all arms and legs with the lack of co-ordination at the moment, but that'll get better as time goes on.

I don't know what it is with the dogs, but every time I look at my female staffy, she has her tongue sticking out. Always a derpy moment with her Grin. My male staffy just gives me that "WTF mum" look, which also makes me laugh. The great side is that they are always wanting to snuggle, and if anyone is upset, they just put a comforting paw on them.

I love the way dogs, and many other animals, can teach us about unconditional love, just by watching how they show it to their favourite people/animals. It's very heart-warming and brightens my day.

It's funny someone should mention ASMR videos, because I can't watch or listen to them. They completely irritate me and make me want to punch the screen, so I have to switch to another video.
