AIBU to cancel my holiday?

I’m going away at the end of next month and have just been on accuweather only to see that it’s going to be raining for most of the trip!

I’m so annoyed, it’s a hot Mediterranean country that should be around 30* that time of year. I don’t want to go away just to be sat in bloody doors Angry

Cancel it then if sun is so important to you! Most people just get on with it and enjoy their holiday.

I don't think you are being unreasonable if you're not effecting anyone else but I agree with the others that the weather forecast could change and so it seems a little dramatic / pre-mature.

My weather app told me it would rain today and is currently telling me it's raining and it isn't and has not!

Do what I do - just look for a different forecast until you find one you like 😄 🍹

Thanks guys, you’ve all reassured me! I’m not going to cancel Grin

I struggle with anxiety and I’ve had a bad week so I think this just tipped me over the edge! I’m going to try to not look at the forecast again and hope for the best!

You can not trust a weather forecast that far in advance. I am in a foreign country right now. This morning it said on the forecast it was thundering and raining, I looked outside and it was sunny with a few clouds and a bit more of a breeze than usual!

The weather forecasts constantly change so don't cancel your holiday

Branleuse · 18/05/2019 13:17

theyre inaccurate so far ahead, but in a mediteranean country its not going to be cold and pour down for a week in June July. It just wont. You might get odd rain shower, but its not going to be like a rainy week in the UK

Wait for the weather-wait foreverWink

I had awful weather forecast for Italy last month (thunderstorms one day!) and apart from one overcast day and some rain at night, it just didn't happen. Enjoy your holiday, OP.

simplekindoflife · 18/05/2019 13:29

It was supposed to rain today where I am and it's really warm with sunshine! I'm wearing a raincoat but thinking I should've brought sunscreen!

Imo they can't predict tomorrow's weather, let alone a month's time! I wouldn't worry yet.

Tartyflette · 18/05/2019 13:29

Iheart Or 'INACCUweather'' as we used to call it at work.
Long range forecasts are generally based on historical data, I.e. what the weather has been like at that location and that time of year in the past, sometimes going back many years.
They're shite barely worth a light.

PBobs · 18/05/2019 13:49

Yeah. I wouldn't pay much attention to it. In the Med a lot changes between May and June. It's like someone flicks a switch.

Crunchymum · 18/05/2019 16:24

To those who don't rate Accuweather, what do you use?

Crunchymum · 18/05/2019 16:25

Glad you haven't made any rash decisions OP.
