To feel like mid forties is too old to retrain? :(

I've been a carer for the last 10 years. Before that I was a medical secretary, before that, many McJobs.

I'm at a point now where I am in a position to study/retrain but I'd be almost fifty by the time I was employable. It's all a bit too late isn't it?

Any inspirational stories of retraining and dream jobs in middle age for me at all?

Do it now because in the blink of an eye you'll suddenly realise that you are about to be 50 & if you had just got on with the training instead of dithering you would already be qualified.

You can always drop your studies & go back to your previous job if you don't like it part way through, but the shortest time for you retrain to do what you want is to start now.

I don't have any personal experience but I definitely don't think it's too late!
If you have the means to do it and enter into a profession you will enjoy and be proud of then imagine the pleasure you will get from that for the years until you retire......what will that be? 10/15 years? Totally worth it
