Exactly ice. It doesn't exist and he's just talking crap

Dana28 · 10/05/2019 09:32

He apologised and deleted the so called offending item immediately.massive overreaction

JacquesHammer · 10/05/2019 09:33

He apologised and deleted the so called offending item immediately.massive overreaction

A. It was no apology. He only made a rough “poor me” style apology when he was called out.

B. It was on social media. No such thing as “deleted” which of course he knows.

StealthPolarBear · 10/05/2019 09:34

It's no so called offending
It is offending
And do you honestly believe he didn't know which royal had given birth?

StealthPolarBear · 10/05/2019 09:34

If so I have a bridge you might be interested in purchasing

GunpowderGelatine · 10/05/2019 09:36

Dana do you think it's an overreaction that after just 1 day on earth Archie is subjected to racism?

Cailleach1 · 10/05/2019 09:36

Does he show everyone as a monkey? Queenie and DOE? Farage and Re Smugg? Johnson? Cambridges and sprogs?

It wasn't an apology. The barrel is such faux gaslighting. It was just for no reason, guv'!

IceRebel · 10/05/2019 09:38

He apologised

He may have said sorry, but that doesn't mean he thinks what he did was wrong.

  • He bragged that the tweet had gone viral
  • Minimized what he had said, by saying it was "his turn in the barrel"
  • Claimed that those who saw the racism had "diseased minds"
  • Told reporters he had no idea who had given birth, despite tweeting about it the day before the offensive tweet.
The80sweregreat · 10/05/2019 09:40

I'm not making excuses for DB at all and I'm glad his sacked , but I am surprised that so many people were not aware of Meghan's heritage as she's been around for a few years and lots of press when they became engaged then married last year which all mentioned this and had photos of her with her mum and dad and so on.
My son is in his early 20s and he said he ' didn't have a clue, knows nothing about the royals and had no idea' which did shock me as he is aware of current news items and other ' celeb' culture. Not that it matters but a lot of people are really not interested and really do not know anything about any of them!

SinisterBumFacedCat · 10/05/2019 09:40

What kind of a dick pokes fun at a newborn anyway?

Cailleach1 · 10/05/2019 09:42

It is really good people are taking screen shots of stuff like this now. People can't pretend they didn't do something.

2010Aussie · 10/05/2019 09:44

It is difficult to understand what he was trying to achieve. I don't think that Danny was being consciously racist - why would he deliberately jeopardise his career? I just believe that he didn't think the situation through. He must have been aware of both Meghan's mixed race heritage and the extensive racial abuse inflicted on some black footballers recently.

And the joke isn't even funny. If he wanted to make a jibe at the Royal Family then why not make the animal ginger in reference to Harry's colouring?

Danny's just been very stupid and he's now having to suffer the consequences.

JacquesHammer · 10/05/2019 10:03

What kind of a dick pokes fun at a newborn anyway?

The kind of guy with middle-aged, white, male privilege who thinks he’s untouchable.

PortiaCastis · 10/05/2019 10:03

Taking a jab at a 3 day old newborn shows how fuckin low folk can stoop, I really hope Meghan isn't subject to anymore abuse because I think there's only so much she can take and after all she's a human being so to post racist jibes at her newborn is sick. Why do people? get off on spouting awful disgusting abuse towards one person and her infant.
Sort of hoping Harry gets the lawyers in and sues the arse off those who fell it's their duty to be an arsehole

NoSauce · 10/05/2019 10:05

You don’t believe the photo of two humans with a dressed monkey and the caption “ royal baby leaves hospital” is offensive then? That it would appear as a racist slur towards a new baby?

Either you’re racist or stupid. Which is it?

DeadWife · 10/05/2019 10:07

The two mainly go together tbf.

NoSauce · 10/05/2019 10:09

They do, but I thought I’d give her the chance to explain which one she/he is Wink

a) Just apologizing after doing something wrong does not make it all ok
and
b) the apology, seeing as it's last line was "Also, guessing it was my turn in the barrel" is seriously piss poor and shows he takes no responsibility for his actions and instead wants to blame everyone else for overreacting.

2010Aussie · 10/05/2019 10:24

Afrikan said "Typical white person speak. Of course you don't think race, you've been conditioned to think that your race is superior"

Sorry but the assumption that all white people are inherently racist & supremacists is very offensive.

Some of us who were educated, live and work in multi-cultural environments really do see people as individuals. Sorry that you don't believe us.

areyoubeingserviced · 10/05/2019 10:28

So he reckoned that he didn’t know anything about the child’s heritage, but saw fit to tweet a photo about the Royal baby.
Do me a favour. One has to be living under a rock to not know who Meghan and Harry are.
I went to Montenegro a few weeks ago and people were asking me about the Royal baby. They were fascinated with Meghan and Harry.
Danny Baker is a damned liar.
He didn’t think about the ramifications of his actions, because he simply didn’t give a damn. He didn’t have to think.
It’s called privilege .
The irony is that Archie is three quarters white , yet the racist have an issue with the twenty five percent black .
I am not a Royalist, but I feel sorry for Meghan . I hope that she will be ok

ewenice · 10/05/2019 10:28

I am amazed at the people defending him - there is no excuse. He works in the media, of course he knows of MM's heritage. He is a racist twat who deserves to be sacked. This kind of veiled, oh I didn't realise, racism should not be put up with in this day and age.

Anyone who thinks he has been hard done by needs to take a good hard look at themselves and their inner views of anyone who isn't white or is of mixed heritage.

The poor woman must be gutted to see such shit posted about her and her beautiful baby.

JamieVardysHavingAParty · 10/05/2019 10:31

At this point, I'm wondering if he's concussed or something. Is he ill?

His "apology" was dire. It would have been easy - especially for an experienced media personality with friends in the business on tap - to write a crowd-pleasing apology that would save his job. He didn't.

Instead, he issued one of the worst apologies I've ever seen and tried to lie really badly about not knowing which royal had had the baby. Shock There are five-year-olds who would be ashamed of lying so badly.

StealthPolarBear · 10/05/2019 10:40

Can you even call it lying? Its more fantastic than lie as its so clearly not the case

NoSauce · 10/05/2019 10:42

Being ill or concussed doesn’t make you racist. There are no excuses for this. He knew that the photo would be interpreted as racism but he still chose to tweet it.
