To book a night away?

I have 3 DC. The youngest is 6 months and ebf but will take a bottle. He wakes anywhere between 2 and 5 times a night and has done for the last 3 months or so. I'm absolutely knackered!

I'm also an introvert. That's not really compatible with having DC at all, never mind 3 of them, one being a baby!

I feel like I need some time just by myself (and a full night's sleep!)

WIBU to book into the local travelodge just for one night? We can definitely afford it!

Definitely do it (I threatened this all the time when my DC was going through a bad stage - he didn’t take a bottle so I never actually went through with it)

whoami24601 · 08/05/2019 18:37

Thanks!

DH actually suggested it so I know he's supportive. Just don't know if I dare!

Do it! 100%
You will feel like a new woman the day after
Take your breast pump maybe though

user1474894224 · 08/05/2019 18:41

Of course do this. Take bath bombs, a book, wine and just take 24 hours for you.

whoami24601 · 08/05/2019 19:35

Ooh more people saying yes! I really thought you'd all say no as I'm still breastfeeding a small baby! I might just do it Grin

But you said he will take a bottle. And anyway if you are local and there was an 'emergency' you could pop/go home. - Also it sounds like you really need the break. (Fyi...I have bf 3 so do know what it's like and one night away will recharge you for months.)

whoami24601 · 08/05/2019 21:55

There's a budget hotel I could go to about 5 miles away that would be around £50. I think I might just go for it! You are right I do think I need the break

Another that says, do it.
It's just one night, get a takeaway, a cake and your iPad and watch a film.
Enjoy.

FreiasBathtub · 08/05/2019 22:01

Oh god do it! I did it when DD was about 6 months old (and only had one at that point), am hoping I can do it again now that DS is getting towards the same age. DH isn't the worst at taking responsibility (not the best either mind you), but I cannot, cannot relax when in the house with the kids, and certainly wouldn't be able to sleep through night wakings/early mornings, even if I wasn't dealing with them. DO IT!!!

SallyWD · 08/05/2019 22:02

Do it. It's a brilliant idea!

Thatsnotmyotter · 08/05/2019 22:03

Do it! My mum had DS overnight when he was 6 months (and mostly refused bottles!). I put him to bed, we picked up a Dominoes on our way home, watched some telly and had 10 hours uninterrupted sleep. It was bliss. DS was totally unfazed by the whole affair and seemed to enjoy the novelty of being with Nana and Grandad. He slept better for them and wasn’t even a specially bothered when I reappeared.

Youngandfree · 08/05/2019 22:03

Good lord yes!!! Go...run like the wind....😂😂

Still18atheart · 08/05/2019 22:03

Reason I ask is because bf has a career in politics and says that it doesn’t but from what I’m seeing I’d say otherwise

whoami24601 · 08/05/2019 22:15

I've booked Grin god I'm so excited! I've paid a little bit more and gone for one with a spa and pool too! Seriously considering forking out for a massage...

Another he'll treat! I talk and talk about this but have never got round to it, more fool me 8 years on! Don't go too 'budget' Smile

resipsa · 08/05/2019 22:16

He'll treat = hell yeah but this time the auto-correct is right either way.

resipsa · 08/05/2019 22:17

Awesome cross post. Book the massage now.

NoSauce · 08/05/2019 22:19

Yes book the massage for sure. Good for you OP!

Thehop · 08/05/2019 22:22

Oh god enjoy!!!

TokyoSushi · 08/05/2019 22:26

Amazing!! Enjoy OP!

BottleOfJameson · 08/05/2019 22:29

Do it that sounds great! I don't even have babies or toddlers anymore and it sounds amazing to me.

whoami24601 · 09/05/2019 02:00

Another bonus to a night in a hotel - no snoring DH! He's just woken me up and now I can't get back to sleep Angry

OP posts:
Catren · 09/05/2019 02:32

Yadnbu, please do it! I had a night away when dd was 3mo and i slept 10 solid hours. Don't forget to take your pump though, you'll definitely need it to avoid rock hard painful boobs!
