To book a night away?

I have 3 DC. The youngest is 6 months and ebf but will take a bottle. He wakes anywhere between 2 and 5 times a night and has done for the last 3 months or so. I'm absolutely knackered!

I'm also an introvert. That's not really compatible with having DC at all, never mind 3 of them, one being a baby!

I feel like I need some time just by myself (and a full night's sleep!)

WIBU to book into the local travelodge just for one night? We can definitely afford it!

Enjoy! I had to do the odd night away for work when DS2 was that age. Only stayed in Travellodges but my favourite was the one with a pizza express across the road. I would bring my book and have a pizza and a couple of glasses of wine and chill (DS was bottle fed so easier for me). It was bliss 😁

Have a lovely time!

QueenofmyPrinces · 15/05/2019 14:59

Glad you’ve booked it!!

I have two children, aged 5 and 2 and at least twice a month I have nights away from them and it’s AMAZING!!!

There’s nothing quite like a night away from home with an uninterrupted night’s sleep. It’s heaven!!!

Twice a month?! I can dream!

I'm totally doing this once we're through this hideous teething episode

Queenie8 · 15/05/2019 15:50

Swimsuit too

foreverhanging · 15/05/2019 15:59

Ooh op I am living through you right now !!

whoami24601 · 15/05/2019 16:05

I've packed snacks and a book. I had planned wine but DS(4) has been sick this morning (he's totally fine now btw or I wouldn't still be going!). Just on the off chance he nose dives again I might need to drive home so I'll have to forget that one! I have packed my swimsuit but tbh I'm going to get away from people so I'll probably just hide in my room Grin

I did it and felt nearly human again after. Take a shower bomb that way you don't miss out if there isn't a bath. Look on the premier inn website you can book ahead for £30. Or look at air bnb

SummerInSun · 15/05/2019 16:12

Have a wonderful time. And once you are there, stay off your phone. Very easy to waste hours on social media, but you'll feel you've had a better break if you read a book / magazine, watch a movie, eat room service or just sleep!

ZsaZsaMc · 15/05/2019 16:48

Excellent advice @Summer - I want to book one now and follow this. Or even just block out an evening where I don’t do jobs or look at my phone!

whoami24601 · 15/05/2019 17:59

I'm here! Drinking a coffee, eating biscuits and watching pointless. I've even managed to get a pointless answer! I seem to be the only one here so that's nice! Might even brave the pool as it's right next door to my roomSmile

@SummerInSun I'm not going to log on to WiFi but will be checking my phone from time to time. Good advice!
