What's in your glove box?

Inspired by a soon to be deleted thread where a variety of odd items were found in a husbands glove compartment.

Not too odd considering I have a pair of scissors, a tea towel, half a dairy milk Oreo (will soon be snaffled), 2 tins of the pink Vaseline lip balm and a roll of white bin bags in mine. What's in yours?!

Car manual, maybe a phone charger. My dh is car minimalist.

theboomtownrat · 08/05/2019 18:29

Car book, locking nut, emergency pound for trolleys and holy medals

Japonicaflower2 · 08/05/2019 18:40

Absolutely no idea! Haven't looked in glove box for many months 🙄

TwinsTrollsandHunz · 08/05/2019 18:43

Locking wheel nut thing
Service history book and manual for car.

All the (essential) crap is distributed in the door & seat pockets.

EskeewdBeef · 08/05/2019 18:43

Gloves (I like to stick to the rules), manual, a pen, coins and TicTacs.

CustardOmlet · 08/05/2019 18:50

Car manual
Cloth to wipe the windscreen
Sat nav
Yogurt covered ride cakes (emergency supply)
Lots of mints
Two pairs of sunglasses
Box of tissues
MacDonald’s curry sauce (to continue the McDonald’s theme)

TrashPanda · 08/05/2019 18:51

Wheel nut things and gloves for if the tyre needs changing and one of those chamois windscreen sponge things. It's a tiny glovebox so nothing else fits! The door pockets have cds, umbrella, road map, de-icer and scraper. The manuals and live one weird little pull out thing under the front passenger seat. Vis vests are in the underfloor storage in the back.

Nothing. The car is only a month old. Mind you, just because I haven't put stuff in there, it doesn't mean its empty does it? Will check tomorrow.

ShinyMe · 08/05/2019 19:33

I have the service book, the manual, a set of those wheel cog unlocky things, a little tin full of pound coins for parking, and a load of cds (almost entirely Bruce Springsteen).

HoneyDragon · 08/05/2019 19:36

Sat Nav. Two cds, a teeny tiny Jeff Goldblum and a sponge

CalmConfident · 08/05/2019 19:36

Car Manual
Prescription sunglasses
Travel Jane
Seatbelt cutter

DSHathawayGivesMeFannyGallops · 08/05/2019 21:12

A highway code, a car manual with insurance details, spare AA card with members info on it and a couple of £1 coins and a list of important phone numbers for emergencies tucked in the plastic covers. Also an in-car mobile charger, 2 umbrellas and a pen and some scrap paper.

I have a lidded tray thing built into my dash where my sunnies live- easier to reach- and I put my phone in there too . I also keep spare driving loafers in my front passenger footwell in case I'm wearing impractical shoes. My 1st aid kit- with a bag of spare contact lenses, glasses wipes, paracetamol and tampons and a compact mirror lives in one door pocket along with de-icer spray & scraper. Cleaning cloths, a fibre-fabric bag for life and an a-z in the other. Fruit pastilles in the cupholder thing. I have a blanket in the back of the car and two hi-viz vests, survival bags/blankets and a set of jump leads with instructions in the boot. I think there might be a mini fire extinguisher knocking about in there, too. My dad has one in his car!

startalovetrain · 09/05/2019 00:08

@MidsomerBurgers I NEED A TRAVEL JANE!

OP posts:
floraloctopus · 09/05/2019 00:10

Hair clips, nurofen, paracetamol, Dog comb, nit comb (interchangeable!), extra strong mints and jump leads

SparkleGem · 09/05/2019 00:38

An empty coin purse.. should really use it for the loose change laying around! McDonald's salt, napkins and McDonald's bbq sauce! Lol.

Penners99 · 09/05/2019 06:25

First may I state not in UK at the moment.
Colt .45 pistol and 4 spare magazines
Pepper spray
Cable ties
Phone booster battery and leads
Cereal Bars
Car registration and Insurance
Copy of Passport

mogtheexcellent · 09/05/2019 06:50

So jealous of all these large glove boxes. Mine is a weird slim shape which doesn't even fit the satnav in.

I have a work pass for particular contact
Notice for my car at work as we have to double park
Some cables for phone, mp3
2 pottette liners. Dd is potty trained but I figure they are useful for me if I ever get caught short when driving alone at night Blush

Zoeputthatdown · 09/05/2019 06:55

Not much space in mine, just
Copy of car insurance
Torch

Biro
