Hoping to settle a difference of opinion... Do you rinse the dishes under the tap as a last step when washing up?

I don't understand how soap residue is left on dishes etc if you're drying them with a tea towel? But then you're just smearing them around.

My DH runs the hot tap (slowly) all the time while he's washing the dishes and it drives me mad. But at least he rinses. Although his dishes always seem really wet compared to mine.

I'm an Agnostic and British, and wash under running water with a sponge which is changed regularly to appease any and all potential Gods observing.

Mustn't appear a slattern. Eggs and baskets and all that.

Yes I rinse before I dry and put away. I didn’t realise that people didn’t rinse!

WhatNowRandy · 04/05/2019 23:40

Yes, I do.

As a forriner - I was warned as a teenager that the British don't do this (much horror among everyone at the very idea), so I'm happy to see this was not canon for all the Brits.

Of course! How else do you rinse off the bubbly water?
