Dh and I bought VIP tickets for a summer festival ages ago. I am pregnant again and will be 6.5months when we're meant to go.

DH now says we 'can't' go as it will be too much/too busy/too hot etc etc

I am determined to go, we have access to a vip area with flushing toilets and seating area if I get knackered and it's only one day (no overnight camping).

We paid a lot for the tickets because the headline act is our favourite band, I don't want to miss out because I'm pregnant! I feel like he's BU for not listening to me, this is our 3rd dc so I know what I can cope with at 6 months.

Should I listen to him and sell the tickets or put my foot down and insist we go anyway?

I'm guessing its trnsmt. If it's like last year it wont be that busy at the VIP area.

Thanks everybody for your messages, I know dh is concerned and I can understand his thought process. I'll be able to make him understand but I think I will need to pick my moment

@OnceUponAThread, you were being kind and I thank you for it, it did also make me chuckle!

Also not Trnsmt... even Scotland has more than one festival with a vip area, who knew WinkGrin

I just think of that one as it's one I work at.

Hope you get the get the result you want.

Do you have any tips for me then Walrus, anything I can/should say to staff? Not that I'm shamelessly using my bump to blag freebies or anything Wink

Not that I can think of. Just make sure staff are aware and get bottles of water if hot. They may move nearer the stage etc.

I went to Glasgow green fireworks 4 days before my due date which I would say was more risky than a festival VIP area.

At least you'll have flushing toilets etc. Trying to use a portaloo the size of a house wasnt fun.

I went to a beer festival, cider festival, music festival and went hiking in Portugal (at six months) when I was pregnant, I also had GD, my midwife said it was better to keep doing things!

I did Glastonbury at 6 months gone. The worst part was really wanting a cold lager!

Two words: Becks Blue. Grin

CallMeRachel · 04/05/2019 22:59

If it's the Rewind Festival you'll be absolutely fine! Maybe your dh is thinking your bump will cramp his style?

frenchonion · 04/05/2019 23:11

I did big gigs, festivals, the lot when I was pregnant with my first two! Full on metal ones too. No issue whatsoever. In fact, I acquired a massive German bodyguard in one gig when he accidentally bumped into my arm (I was really close to the front so not his fault) and he noticed I was pregnant so cleared a nice circle around me and shoved away random moshers outside their pit. He was brilliant! There is zero issue unless you're heading into the mosh pit!!! Tell your DH to get a grip.

LadyLaSnack · 04/05/2019 23:19

I worked at festivals up until 8months on two pregnancies. It’s was fun! Totally do-able.

Trebla · 04/05/2019 23:29

I'd go at 8 months. Your body, your choice. I'd be royally fucked off at any suggestion otherwise.
