For wanting to blow snot at these phrases??

People who say “oats” instead of porridge
People who say “house-coat” instead of dressing gown
People who say “Kellogg’s” instead of cornflakes
People who say “pikelets” instead of crumpets.

What makes you want to blow snot at people?

OP posts:
BlueMerchant · 30/04/2019 13:23

People who say 'spit out their dummy' or ' throw toys out the pram'.
People who say 'hash tag'
Also ' me time'

SpoonBlender · 30/04/2019 13:23

Apparently you'll snot at people who were raised in a different county from you? Never look up what people around the country call buns/baps/barm cakes/stotties/etc, you'll blow a fuse.

Now, if you'd said "dessert hummus" I'd be with you.

badlydrawnperson · 30/04/2019 13:24

Hoover and hoovering - it’s bollocks

Beachbodynowayready · 30/04/2019 13:26

People who say latch and talk about cluster feeding. Sets my teeth on edge!

LoudBatPerson · 30/04/2019 13:31

Pikelet's and Crumpets are two different things though. Similar, but different.

FromDespairToHere · 30/04/2019 13:41

People who say “oats” instead of porridge I've never heard of this. Porridge is made from oats.

People who say “house-coat” instead of dressing gown This is a regional thing. MIL has a housecoat - she's Scottish.
People who say “Kellogg’s” instead of cornflakes I've never heard of this either. What would they call other Kellogs cereals?
People who say “pikelets” instead of crumpets To me a pikelet is like a very thin crumpet but I think again it can be a regional thing - Yorkshire for this I believe.

Nousernameforme · 30/04/2019 13:43

WTAF is dessert hummus

AudacityOfHope · 30/04/2019 13:44

People who say 'blow snot'

WTF is that meant to mean?? It's rank. Envy

missteddy · 30/04/2019 13:46

@AudacityOfHope Grin I was thinking the same, what a horrible expression! Envy

TheCanterburyWhales · 30/04/2019 13:46

Both your thread title (which is minging) say a lot about your weird prejudices.
I expect you'll now do a "ffs lighten up" post. Hmm

DirtyDennis · 30/04/2019 13:46

@Audacity I agree. I'm actually hiding this thread because of that phrasing - makes me feel a bit sick everytime it pops up on my Active list.

TheCanterburyWhales · 30/04/2019 13:47

*both your thread title and your opinions.

MammaSchwifty · 30/04/2019 13:48

Blowing snot?! Are you a horse?

SoupDragon · 30/04/2019 13:51

People who say latch and talk about cluster feeding

Confused What words/phrases are they meant to use?

A pikelet is a flat thing with holes in, a crumpet is a great big fluffy thing. Both tasty!

Jinglejanglefish · 30/04/2019 13:57

Blow snot is a rank phrase, it's weird to complain about phrases other people use when using that yourself!

iklboo · 30/04/2019 13:57

Pikelets aren't crumpets. They're two completely different products.

EdWinchester · 30/04/2019 13:58

People who say ‘blow snot’.

What a disgusting phrase.

whiskeysourpuss · 30/04/2019 14:03

OP where do you stand on people who use baffies instead of slippers?

I use housecoat & dressing gown interchangeably but that's because of where I was brought up.

I've never used or heard anyone else use Kellogg's to mean any type of cereal, the closest would be using Frosties to refer to Asda frosted flakes.

Never heard the porridge/oats thing either but may be because I'm in Scotland where it's practically a hanging offence to not know how to make proper porridge & have the salt or sugar argument discussion every time Grin

Never heard of a pikelet so can't comment on that one

SnakesBarmitzvah · 30/04/2019 14:08

People that say "hence why..."

Also agree, the use of "blow snot" is gross - never heard that one before and wish I still hadn't to be honest!

JuneFromBethesda · 30/04/2019 14:11

Blowing snot?! Are you a horse?

😂

AudacityOfHope · 30/04/2019 14:13

Hiding this thread now! It's giving me the boak.

JaneJeffer · 30/04/2019 14:13

Horrible thread title. Are you a Premier League footballer?

OVAgroundWOMBlingfree · 30/04/2019 14:15

Blow snot? 🤢
OP I can only come to the conclusion that in using the phrase “blow snot” you were trying to encourage a large group of people to vomit up their lunch.
