If it tasted good I think you’re fine.

sprinkleofsunshine · 28/04/2019 16:01

Unless it smelt or tasted funny I'm sure it's absolutely fine and you will be fine.

Babyroobs · 28/04/2019 16:01

We eat out of date food all the time, it's just a guide.

TheQueef · 28/04/2019 16:03

No you won't get ill.
Let Dp finish them.

Sexnotgender · 28/04/2019 16:03

It’ll be fine.

Utrecht · 28/04/2019 16:03

If it looks ok and smells ok it probably is ok. I ate two yoghurts which were use by 16th April on Thursday - so a week out of date - with no ill effects whatsoever.

DramaAlpaca · 28/04/2019 16:05

You'll be fine, stop worrying.

BuzzPeakWankBobbly · 28/04/2019 16:06

What is it you think happens as the clock ticks over from 23:59:59 on the use by date, OP?

Rosielee93 · 28/04/2019 16:11

@BuzzPeakWankBobbly no im not one to think like that but its been 3 days now just wanted to check it would be alright because of the dairy.

If it had gone off, your combined senses would have told you.

We have evolved to detect bad food very well.

scarecrowhead · 28/04/2019 16:18

Of course it's fine

DramaAlpaca · 28/04/2019 16:20

If it helps, the other day I knowingly ate an Aldi individual tiramisu that was five days past its use by date - with no ill effects whatsoever.

Ohyesiam · 28/04/2019 16:21

All the sugar in it acts as a preservative. I found this out making sugar free cake that was furry in 3 days! So the dairy( and you ) will be fine.

Livedandlearned · 28/04/2019 16:22

My dh regularly eats out of date food and he's fine, it's just a guideline and also for the shops stock rotation.

lidoshuffle · 28/04/2019 16:24

I had some vacuum packed chestnuts I found in the cupboard last week with a date of 2013. I ate them and am still here (so far).

Rosielee93 · 28/04/2019 16:25

Thanks everyone feel a lot better about it now!

Candleglow7475 · 28/04/2019 16:28

I think unless it smelled sour or tasted bad it’s going to be ok- not that I’d actively chose to do it though.

lahdeedah2019 · 28/04/2019 16:29

Aslong as it didn't taste funny you should be ok

Rosielee93 · 28/04/2019 16:29

Forgot to say dp refused to eat his cheesecake incase 'something happened'

OP posts:
justilou1 · 28/04/2019 16:31

You could always fake your death and then eat his, too....

LarryGreysonsDoor · 28/04/2019 16:31

Unless it was fizzy then you will be fine.

DramaAlpaca · 28/04/2019 16:33

I'd eat his Wink

DieSchottin93 · 28/04/2019 16:34

I had chicken that was three days past its use by the other day and I had no ill effects whatsoever and I regularly eat yoghurt that's more than three days past its use by date. Don't panic, you'll be fine.

strawberrisc · 28/04/2019 16:38

I risked two lovely pieces of fish for lunch that were one day out of date (something I would NEVER normally do with fish after my Mum was food poisoned with it in hospital). I way overcooked it and now it's 4 hours later and I think it's okay...

Jenny17 · 28/04/2019 16:42

You'll find out in a few hours.
