..then you should really vacuum the stairs and hall way?

Seriously, it was absolutely covered in crap. I saw a toe nail.

Same goes for people selling stuff on Facebook.
"Could do with a clean".

Half a million is a lot of money to most people wether you are in expensive housing areas or not. Most of the country doesn't have silly London prices and half a million can buy a lot more than a small gritty flat. You will have upmarket more desirable areas selling for a little more round here but half a mil will still get a lovely large Victorian property.

I don't expect houses to be immaculate but surely a Hoover isn't much to ask?
I do think a lot of the grubby ones could be tenants or people not wanting to move. Also those that are empty...

Do you think there was something wrong with the bathroom that they didn't want you to see?

Have you been to View OP or are you going by the pictures.

I viewed it. I couldn't see a toe nail on a photo. Grin

The question isn't whether 500k is a lot of money it's whether the house it's an ambitious price for that particular property or not. If it's cheaply priced then it'll sell regardless of crumbs or toe nails on the floor.

Bluntness100 · 28/04/2019 12:53

Exactly. And it's nothing to do with the fact the house is worth 500k. It's simply that was this ones value.

The point was it was dirty. And there can be any number of reasons for this, from mental health issues, disability, poor tenants, to simply lazy or not caring. Pretending it's all about the value of the house and what that would be uou in London, or if it's a lot of money or not, is just ludicrous.

My own personal standards wouldn't allow me to show my house in any state other than clean & tidy, but I quite like seeing complete shitholes. I find it rather thrilling, actually.
