I saw the end of a rainbow!

Had a shitty couple of days. The very expensive van my son bought to start new business blew up before he got it home and we both spent 2 hours in freezing rain waiting for the AA to rescue us from side of the motorway.
Returned said van this morning and stood in freezing rain demonstrating exactly how the engine blew up.
Long drive home up motorway. Rain stopped. Sun came out, and I actually saw the end of a fantastically bright rainbow

No gold though.

Anyone else seen one? Or maybe you have had a little bit if joy after a rotten day?

Wow what a bunch of miserable gits here. Why is there always one or ten on MN to shit on someone's parade. Seeing the end of a rainbow cheered up someone's crap day. Just let them have that moment, be it scientifically correct or not.

We see lots of rainbows here because the house is on the side of a hill where rain and sun often coincide, sometimes rain on one side of it and the sun still shining on the other. I have never managed to find the end of a rainbow, but I go on hoping.

I once saw the end of a rainbow in a carpark at the end of a mountain trail.

No one ever believes me, but it was right there.

Not a great picture, but a circular rainbow we saw from the beach in Borneo. It was beautiful in real life.

Dont care what anyone says. I know what I saw.
And it was special.
I cannot swear to leprechauns either way. They are invisible, aren't they?

Sounds fab OP!!!!! I have seen the end of a rainbow a few times too. I live in an area with big valleys and wide open spaces nearby, and it's not uncommon to see huge rainbows, and the whole of them too. (Including the end!)

And of COURSE they have ends, and of course you can drive through the end of them. What on earth is THIS, if it isn't someone driving through the end of a rainbow?!

Rainbows cheer me right up, whatever shape they are. So do blackbirds, seeing a new cat on my daily walk and the smell of petrichor.

You and I know that rainbows don’t have ends and that it’s physically impossible to reach the end of one, but you’re seriously over-estimating scientific education in the UK if you assume that everyone isn’t treating the OP literally.
