What's the weirdest thing you've found in a hotel room?

Stayed in York in a very posh hotel for a wedding on Thursday and the hotel room was amazing- 4 poster bed, bath in the room etc but this was on the back of the door.. very bizarre!!

So humour me- what's the weirdest thing you've found in a hotel?

The gusset showed obvious signs of wear... Eughhh enough said

Working as room cleaner found a porn mag under the bed after a vicar and family stayed, also a stag do that let off a fire extinguisher in the room and didnt tell us before checking out

:O What happens to the matresses, in the examples given above, when they've been heavily spoiled??

@HelloMonday it was replaced after the first incident mentioned, other times they had a company that professionally cleaned. The mattresses had protective covers (not plastic ones, like a weird jersey/fleece?) But sometimes that wouldn't cut it. 🤢

Blood stains on the walls and, the following morning, when I drew the curtains, two vultures on the balcony ( in Brazil).

Oh and one in the Pyranees that had glass block walls between the shower and next door room's shower...

Used condom behind the bed, dropped my phone down between the bed and side table, pulled the bed out a bit to get it and there it was draped half over the skirting board. 🤢🤢🤢

National hotel chain.... S'pose it might have been my one and only close encounter with Sir Lenny

In Thailand, a price list - for every (re)movable thing in the room, from the dressing gowns to the chairs, to the bed etc.

Former housekeeper here, a bin with used steroid injections .....from an overseas football team player staying in the hotel and playing in a match in our city.

A filthy politician once used the flannels to ahem clean himself after he had a poop, there were a few of them it was disgusting beyond belief.

A famous dj condoms and half eaten strawberries everywhere.

A dead guy.....sad but true, he had tucked himself up in bed, left a note and took a bunch of pills.

Opened wardrobe, saw paper on floor, picked it up to find it was a court summons for GBH...
We didn't stay.

I once stayed in a hostel in Barcelona with my best friend.

The hostel was a bit of a shit hole, smelly, small, probably what you expect for 9 Euro.

We went to bed as soon as we got in because we’d travelled overnight, so we didn’t have time to check the room over etc. When we woke up there was a Korean man wearing a string vest and a pair of woman’s underwear asleep on the spare bunk bed.

No clue if he’d been there when we went to bed or not as we didn’t turn the lights on we just used our phones.

He woke up to tell us he was from Korea, and was travelling across Europe. Gave us a cigarette and asked for a photograph (clothed obviously).

He was nice but we checked out and went to a more private hostel immediately.

A bird nest in (what I assume was) a ventilation duct in apartment in Greece. Wee birds hatched while we were there and then disappeared 😥 DD thought they'd flown away.

Never found anything weird, but there was a weird incident last year in Mexico.

Picture of a abstract tree on the wall- I love abstract art so I noted it and remembered it.

Three days into the trip I woke up and the picture had changed to a seascape. Really freaked me out as I was convinced I had seen the tree whilst falling asleep. I checked it I realised it was bolted to the wall!

Why unscrew one piece of art and screw in another?

My OH claimed I must be mistaken- a day later I found a picture of this tree painting in the background of a picture taken of me on the day we arrived. After that he was very freaked!

It really freaked me out at the time because I was convinced it had changed overnight. As time has gone by I’ve figured it must have been changed in the day and I just didn’t notice it until later, even though I could have sworn I saw it as I fell asleep- still not sure why though.

Now I’ve typed it out it doesn’t seem so weird- felt weird though! Haha

In a cottage style hotel in Cornwall we found an enamel bedpan. The day after we returned home it was delivered, nicely wrapped in brown paper, by the postman to our house. The hotel owners must’ve thought we’d left it (we were only in our thirties at the time - we must’ve looked old and haggard)
