...that seems to send preschoolers mental?!

Kids parties etc this song comes on and they go nuts! The girls in DDs nursery say the kids ask for it, but I have friends with kids at different nurseries who say the same thing so it can’t just be DDs pals.

I mean it’s catchy and upbeat but so are lots of songs 🤷🏻‍♀️

Oh god I’m sick of it! my five year old wanted in on repeat for an hours journey on Wednesda, I liked it for the first three times...

Alsohuman · 19/04/2019 15:30

Oh Lord, my bloody brain keeps singing it to me now. It’s such an ear worm.

Nousernameforme · 19/04/2019 15:31

Never heard of this but giving it a go with my five year old.

sunshineandshowers21 · 19/04/2019 15:32

my five year old son is obsessed with george ezra! he love shotgun and always wants me to put it on for him in the car. i actually kind of fancy george ezra tbh...

Nousernameforme · 19/04/2019 15:34

No reaction whatsoever put this on afterwards and he is bouncing away

DarkDarkNight · 19/04/2019 15:35

I don’t know but it’s always on at my Son’s School discos along with Paradise and they even play it in Reception during golden time as a treat.

I think it’s a really good song for kids to like. I’d much rather this than Baby Shark. I don’t think he’s smug at all, I think he seems like a nice guy, slightly awkward and not even trying to be Mr Cool.

dudsville · 19/04/2019 15:36

ooh, I love shotgun and uptown funk!

BlueEyedBengal · 19/04/2019 15:37

My DS6 can't stop singing this in the house in the car, he's not getting fed up yet!

TheSultanofPingu · 19/04/2019 15:40

It's the most annoying song ever (to me anyway)
I loathe it.

Slazengerbag · 19/04/2019 15:42

Maybe Iran because he burps at 59 seconds in.

Willow2017 · 19/04/2019 15:42

I dont know but i think if i hear it one more time i might comit Hari Kari !

Its on local.radio at least once an hour and as its on all day at work there is no escape😠 that and about 8 other so called 'hits' shit over and over........its bloody torture.

foreverwashing · 19/04/2019 15:45

It's Gerry Cinnamon with my teeny and his ilk (which I am not terribly pleased about, but that's another thread).

'SHE IS A BELTURRRRR'

I used to play him Baby Mozart Hmm

LaurieMarlow · 19/04/2019 15:51

I’m in town and guess what the busker’s belting out? Grin

Disfordarkchocolate · 19/04/2019 16:13

I love this, and most George Ezra. Great voice and lovely moves.

motherheroic · 19/04/2019 16:34

Probably because he says things like 'see you later alligator'.

Halija · 19/04/2019 16:38

I’ve never listened to the original song, only to the David Cameron parody.

It is very catchy though.

Charlottejbt · 19/04/2019 16:45

Grin at the Cameron version!

Moomoomoomoomoo · 19/04/2019 17:25

My 4 year old loves it.

ThisMustBeMyDream · 19/04/2019 17:34

My 17, 6 and 3 year olds all love it. As do I Grin. It's a full house hit here! Not many of those around for the ages of my children!

Speaking of Mika, we play him a lot here. Try Popular... if you don't mind a good old ear worm Grin

WeTookVows · 19/04/2019 17:39

My kids all love Shotgun. I actually think Paradise and Budapest are much better songs.

Agree with PP that George Ezra always seems in on the joke and doesn't take himself too seriously.

fourquenelles · 19/04/2019 17:48

Claim to fame alert. I had a fag with George Ezra outside the venue he was playing about 5 years ago just before he hit the big time. He was lovely, down to earth and very sweet.

jpclarke · 19/04/2019 17:54

My 2 year old sings along to this song!! And has been since she was 18 months. It's just catchy she also loves shut up and dance with me.

MistyMinge · 19/04/2019 17:57

This is a timely thread, I was only thinking the same this morning. My 6 and 4 year absolutely love it and I often hear them singing it to themselves. I love it too. It makes me feel summery and happy.

SauvingnonBlanketyBlanc · 19/04/2019 17:58

Its ds 5 favourite song! God knows why
