...that seems to send preschoolers mental?!

Kids parties etc this song comes on and they go nuts! The girls in DDs nursery say the kids ask for it, but I have friends with kids at different nurseries who say the same thing so it can’t just be DDs pals.

I mean it’s catchy and upbeat but so are lots of songs 🤷🏻‍♀️

God I hate that song 😂 I can't stand the way George Ezra sings. Budapest drove me mad when it used to play 10x times a day at my work when it came out.

Cbatothinkofaname · 19/04/2019 14:24

It’s the rhythm. Friend of mine who’s a primary teacher uses it as a ‘fun’ activity at the end of PE lessons and the kids all gallop round the hall.

PortiaCastis · 19/04/2019 14:32

I take people on tours and play George Ezra CD on the bus and yep it gets adults and children singing particularly the children, I think they're just catchy simple songs

YouWinAgain · 19/04/2019 14:34

Just played it for my 3 year old (think she'd not know) and I got "Oh mummy it's George, I love this" and started dancing Grin

bobstersmum · 19/04/2019 14:34

Maybe he's smug because he's got a big willy? Not that I've ever wondered about his willy...

chocolatelog · 19/04/2019 14:36

My 4 year old loves it but I haven't a clue where she's heard it. She hasn't had a school disco yet and we don't play George Ezra 🤷🏻‍♀️

woodhill · 19/04/2019 14:36

Love George Ezra, like most of his songs.

Iputthescrewinthetuna · 19/04/2019 14:38

My DD (reception) loves it too!
The school got them to perform a 'harvest' version of it!

'I'll be riding tractors, underneath the hot sun
Feeling like I'm some one. Oohooohh

Home grown new pototoes, green tomatoes, gotta hit the farm!
Gotta hit the farm.

I actually can't remember the real words!

Flyinga · 19/04/2019 14:40

Dunno, maybe it's because it says 'gun' a lot, they notice it?! My ds is obsessed with guns though...

I suspect that's also an element. Doubt many tots know what riding shotgun means.

RuffleCrow · 19/04/2019 14:40

Everything about him is annoying - especially the voice and the Mr Whippy hair.

SleepingStandingUp · 19/04/2019 14:42

I know he's young and not very attractive, but his singing voice makes me come over all hot and unuecessary

Tawdrylocalbrouhaha · 19/04/2019 14:43

Yep, my 4 year old has loved that song since it came out. I have a funny clip of him last summer swerving along on the plasma bike, shirt off, shades on, singing "I'll be with a shotgun" and other misheard lyrics.

His current favourite is "Sweet but a side cow".

Derpess · 19/04/2019 14:44

My 5 year old is obsessed with this, I just asked her and she said she loves it because she loves guns and the sun.
I've now set her off singing it again 🙈

NotSoThinLizzy · 19/04/2019 14:44

Makes my DS fall asleep 😂 hes 18 months

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 19/04/2019 14:45

It's not just little kids. DS is 18 and it's on heavy rotation in his car!

bruffin · 19/04/2019 14:49

I always think there’s something unbearably smug about George Ezra
He is a local lad and by all accounts really lovely. Heard 2 stories about him, which show him as very down to earth and nice.

woodhill · 19/04/2019 14:50

I think his voice his unusual for a young man, and he is good looking.

Scott Walker had a very deep distinctive voice in the 60s. He sounded like he should be older

M3lon · 19/04/2019 14:51

relieved to hear this isn't just us....

Twotome · 19/04/2019 14:53

Yep my 5 year olds favourite!

Catchingbentcoppers · 19/04/2019 14:54

Grace Kelly

Oh DD LOVED this song when it first came out, she was only about 3!

TellySavalashairbrush · 19/04/2019 14:55

I can never understand what he’s singing to be honest.

gauntletthrown · 19/04/2019 14:59

My 6yo loves this song and I hate it!

I think he has a good voice but his music is v middle of the road and he doesn't look like he sounds!

LaurieMarlow · 19/04/2019 15:03

OMG. It’s like you’re reading my mind. Ds4 had it on a loop for an hour this morning to practice ‘ninja dancing’. Whatever the fuck that is. Grin

dustarr73 · 19/04/2019 15:04

@Charlottejbt i agree, but listen to Brendon Urie. His voice is amazing

Charlottejbt · 19/04/2019 15:15

@dustarr73 Thanks for the recommendation! I'd never heard of Brendan Urie but I'm listening to his "best live vocals" on Youtube and he does have a lovely voice.
