Hi,

Firstly as per the title, has anyone been in this boat?

Secondly what the hell do I do???? I could be quite far gone and had no idea until today! I can't get to midwife until Wednesday as she has no appointments

What's with all the congratulations? It could be an utter disaster for the OP to find out at this stage when she has no choice other than to go through with the pregnancy.

Alright Debbie downer.

Sexnotgender · 19/04/2019 11:53

Alright Debbie downer.

It’s nothing to do with being a downer. OP didn’t indicate either way if they were happy about this.

I asked early doors if this was a wanted pregnancy.

@susansurroundsound 🤣🤣🤣

A pp is right. Ok hasn't indicated whether this is good news for her or not, she has just given the facts....

Bluesheep8 · 19/04/2019 12:00

OP I mean!

I think, unless someone corrects you (and the op hasn’t) despite quite a long thread, the standard response to “I’m pregnant” is “congratulations”. Anything else is rude.

It’s like when someone says “my grandad died”, you always say “I’m
so sorry to hear that”. Sometimes someone will correct you and say “I’m not. He was an abusive, horrible old git and I’m glad he’s dead”. But that doesn’t mean you don’t give the usual response.

Imagine if it was a much longed for pregnancy, you announced it to a friend and they looked concerned and said “and... is that a GOOD thing? Just checking”. There would be a big thread on here about how rude and unsupportive the friend is.

Just my thoughts!

But obviously you’re right^^, she hasn’t said either way. In fact, she hasn’t said anything since her op. Hope she’s ok Flowers.

*...(and the op hasn’t, despite quite a long thread),...

Weird bracket placement there, sorry.

GreatestShowUnicorn · 23/04/2019 17:53

@GetsIt hope you are doing okay?

A friend of mine found out at 32 weeks. Usually women are already overweight in this situation so don’t particularly notice any weight gain but my friend was absolutely tiny. There’s a photo of her taken a week before she found out and she had no bump whatsoever, it was so odd. No idea where the baby was hiding but once she found out the bump sort of seemed to pop out! He’s ten now.

Hope you’re ok OP.

It's also happened to a friend of mine. It was her 5th (and last lol) baby. She had a 10 month old and found out when she had to take a test as a precaution at the doctors before they'd give her certain medication. She was 35 weeks gone and had her 2 weeks later.

After the shock she can laugh about it now and swears she had no idea. Her partner had a vasectomy soon after.
