Hospital appointment today. I've had symptoms for five years.

Joint pain, bladder and bowel issues, headaches, blurred vision, dizziness, intermittent weakness (feels like a minor stroke, can't lift a kettle, numbness, dragging leg behind me.
In constant pain, falling.

Been to the GP and hospital and told it's not arthritis, not muscle based.
Neurology last time told me that they was broken eye persuits and issues with rotation of joints but no known reason.

Seen today , a two minute appointment which told me there was no neurological signs at all (even though two weeks ago was told there was)

Only interested in my anxiety tablet (I had these issues way before anxiety)

And discharged me on my memory way to carry on with the lack of any qualify of life I currently have.

What the hell do I do next Sad

Get another GP, thus one sounds shit.

Flowers good luck getting answers.

Fretfulparent · 16/04/2019 11:38

So sorry to hear that. Were they cancerous? Does seem very brutal to remove your ovaries at such a young age. Could some if your symptoms literally be an aging effect of lack of oestrogen for 17 years? Other woman would be in their late sixties at a similar stage.

NicoAndTheNiners · 16/04/2019 11:56

My brother had ME and had good days and bad days, possibly the periods of good bs bad were longer, not sure.

inmyfeelings · 16/04/2019 11:57

Fibromyalgia

pelirocco123 · 16/04/2019 11:58

Have you been tested for Lupus?

frazzledasarock · 16/04/2019 12:06

I had really achy joints and was in constant pain to the point I wasn’t even aware how much pain I was tolerating till the GP sent me off for Vit D test which found mine were very very low, I was put on a very high vit D3 dosage then retested. I’m on vit D3 forever pretty much they do test me to make sure my levels are ok.

Once my levels were up I was really shocked how much pain I had been in, it felt like a fog lifted.

Get your vitamin D levels re-checked and take the prescribed vitamins it really does make a massive difference.

NicoAndTheNiners · 16/04/2019 12:25

Have you been tested for Crohn's and coeliac? You say you have some bowel issues.

I know with coeliacs the symptoms can be really odd, not just digestive stuff. So weird aches, pains, memory fog, tiredness, etc. In fact I'd say dd has all your symptoms apart from the falling over/weakness. I mean she can be quite dizzy and feel physically weak all over if glutened but not to the extent of dragging a leg.....more of a whole body lethargy.

MattFreisWeatherReport · 16/04/2019 12:33

Your GP sounds shockingly incurious - can you see anyone different?

I'm not going to attempt any armchair diagnosis, but I would just add to all the suggestions you've already had that if you're taking supplements of any sort there will probably be co-supplements you need to potentiate their action. So, if you're having B12 injections/spray you need to also supplement your folic acid, and if you're taking VitD you'll also need to keep your magnesium up.

The other thing that I think is often overlooked is the impact of general lifestyle, so if you haven't already then have some regard for eating healthily, cutting out crap/caffeine/alcohol, getting enough sleep, managing stress, etc. People scoff but it's really important in overcoming chronic conditions.

justilou1 · 16/04/2019 13:09

Do you get migraines? Do you get visual disturbances? Ringing in your ears? Do you grind your teeth? Do you take vitamin D3?

Welcometotherock · 16/04/2019 20:53

Yes to all of your post Justilou.
I've started D3 again months ago. Periodically it drops low.

I've been tested for arthritis, MS, neurological conditions and caeliacs.
Plus the usual blood tests.
Now being told they've exhausted all measures...

Not heard of Lupus.

Did you have your thyroid and parathyroid hormones tested?

Welcometotherock · 16/04/2019 23:26

I think they tested the thyroid years ago but I'm not 100%. Don't think they tested the second one you've mentioned.

Sounds like your body is crying out for oestrogen to me

birdsandroses · 16/04/2019 23:32

Your symptoms don’t sound like ME to me. This questionnaire is good for checking whether you fit ME ICC criteria. www.meadvocacy.org/the_international_consensus_criteria_what_is_it_do_i_fit_the_criteria

Sarcelle · 16/04/2019 23:34

Candida?

User28817462737483899 · 16/04/2019 23:49

MS (?)

justilou1 · 17/04/2019 03:06

Oh, do your legs ache and have you had your bone density checked?

justilou1 · 17/04/2019 03:07

If your parathyroid hormones are out, they mess up your calcium levels and your balance.... worth checking into. Your parathyroid glands are TEEEEEEEEEENY tiny wee glands behind your thyroid glands and they can cause so much trouble when they choose to have a wobble.

MissMoan · 17/04/2019 03:40

Check your potassium levels. If low you can get similar symptoms. Ask your GP for a blood test. I hope you start feeling better!

amandacarnet · 17/04/2019 03:47

I just wanted to add that I think sometimes conditions are not diagnosed because some of your symptoms may not be related. So for example, joint pain is very common and may simply be a touch of arthritis. Or dizziness may be down to a slight inner ear disturbance that again is very common.

ispepsiok · 17/04/2019 04:32

Ask to see the original MRI report to start with, some things can be listed as incidental findings but definitely aren't. Ask for an more up to date brain and spine MRI.

Also see a rheumatologist and ask for tests for connective tissue diseases.

I have very similar symptoms to you and know some of what's causing it in my case, but it would be very outing to post my diagnosis here.

Shiraznowplease · 17/04/2019 04:56

justilou1 I was wondering why you mentioned grinding teeth if you don’t mind me asking. I have had similar symptoms and have been diagnosed with series of mini stroke and IBD.

Shiraznowplease · 17/04/2019 04:56

I also grind my teeth

justilou1 · 17/04/2019 06:43

Honestly? I was asked by my doctor when he diagnosed me parathyroid issues. Can’t find anything about why though! Probably the stress of non-specific illnesses associated with it all building up. Turned out I also had osteopenia at 42, so it’s pretty serious.
