To ask whether you can sing?

I can sing, but I don't, because I'm shy.
I sang once in public in a pub and apparently everyone was talking about me the next day (I was really proud to hear that). That gives me every sort of stage fright and fear of performance failure that you might imagine, so I haven't sung since.
I sound a bit like this woman when I sing...

So I can 'carry a tune' but I'm never going to set the world on fire!

My dd can sing, but not x-factor level, she's just good at carrying a tune 'I can get by' as she says herself.

I'd love to hear from any singers - I think it's a beautiful talent that you either have or haven't. Anyone who's a shower singer care to share?

I can't but I do.
I sing all day wearing my headphones.
I've done karaoke twice, drunk abroad both times.
If my headphones fall out and I hear myself it is painful to hear.

I’m a terrible singer but it doesn’t stop me! Would never sing in public but my family get to experience the full horror of my voice at home. I really wish I could sing and I’m very envious of those who can.

Just about carry a tune, but not one to sing in public except in a church service or as a part of a communal sing-song. Four musicians in the family are much better than me.

If Stevie nicks can make millions anyone can! I love her voice though did anyone see her on American horror story apocalypse last year? She's still got it! Still annoyed that lady off that musical reality show with Graham Norton completely lost her beautiful voice because they worked her too hard. Really weird that no one in the profession thought she might need a rest or notice the signs?
