Should DD2 have woken up to let DD1 in so she didn't have to drive 20 minutes to get a key?

DD2 is 18 and was at home in bed un well. Not sure what is wrong but she had been vomiting in the night, she hadn't been to sleep and finally fell asleep around 7am.

DD1 is 21 and was at a cafe with her boyfriend that is a small walk from our home. She needed to come in and get s couple of stuff, but didn't have a key on her. Her flat is a 20 minute drive away... so she just came and knocked on the door, she knew her sister was unwell.

Should DD have got up to let them in? It was at 10am.

My sister would have been your dd1 and she has mot changed 30 years on.

Sounds like someone (maybe both of them) are trying to drag you into their squabble. It is not really your daughter's place to say who should or should not live in YOUR house.

Re opening the door - if DD2 knew it was her sister at the door, she was being mean and petty not to get up, even if she was tired and feeling ill. If she didn't know who was at the door DD1 is being unreasonable, hard to believe she didn't have her phone with her to call DD2?

So OP never came back?

If I was in bed sick and heard someone knock on the door, there's a good chance I'd ignore it if I wasn't expecting anyone. People like meter readers and postmen can leave cards, if it's someone like an election canvasser or someone trying to sell something I'd be seriously pissed off if I'd dragged myself out of bed for that. DD1 would presumably have had to go and get her own key anyway if DD2 hadn't been poorly.

When I have a migraine, getting up will cause intense pain and nausea, and I will throw up within minutes of getting out of bed. Nothing is worth that.
