I do laugh about this.
I get a man saying from credit investigations calling.
So I ask him if he got up this morning and is proud of how he was going to scam people, how he can face his family knowing what his job involved..
He told me to F off and hung up...

My child is laughing at me..

I used to work cold calling and my call centre was full of all kinds of people just trying to make a living.
Constant abuse was just part and parcel of the job but it is a waste of both yours and the call handlers time. As hilarious or clever as you think you may sound, we've heard it all before.
In the future it's easier to just say "please erase my data and never contact me again" in a polite tone. That's the best way to guarantee being taken off the list.

My dad will occasionally keep them on the line for ages (him and Mum have registered with the TPS) - he had one guy from "Microsoft" call saying he had a computer virus and kept him on the line for ages until he was asked in exasperation what model computer he has - he replied "a ZX Spectrum"! Apparently the caller said "motherfucker!" and hung up

I do like to wind up the "we're calling about your recent car accident" people from time to time
