It's vulgar trash, both middle class and supposed upperclass. That will see and shoot any animal dead

Springtime336 · 06/04/2019 17:40

Good points above
People do always use that “ Are you vegetarian”
arguement

I think it’s sad that the fallers get airbrushes out of the race. We know that Vintage Clouds and Up For Review fell at the first fence and one was covered up in the green tent (not a good sign) but there is no info yet as to which horse was hurt.

Springtime336 · 06/04/2019 17:41

KissingIntheRain- it’s because a lot of us actually care

Not this shite again. Out come the holier than thou animal lovers. Every year, regular as clockwork...

And out come the posters complaining about these threads Hmm

billysboy · 06/04/2019 17:46

Up For Review did not look good thrashing around on the ground after his fall

GoFiguire · 06/04/2019 17:47

It’s been announced that Up for Review sustained a fatal injury. Probably a broken back. So sad.

Springtime336 · 06/04/2019 17:49

I feel so angry with that industry. Another horse dies but as long as folk make money then that’s ok Absolutely heartbreaking

Intohellbutstayingstrong · 06/04/2019 17:51

Utterly grim.

derxa · 06/04/2019 17:52

it’s because a lot of us actually care I doubt it.

billysboy · 06/04/2019 17:53

The way it was thrashing around looked like it couldnt get up
I hope the crowd in the stands at the first fence had a good view of the other side of racing

Springtime336 · 06/04/2019 17:55

dexra ???

“Awful human beings” seriously? People, and indeed horses, die every day. It’s a sad part of life. I mean yes, I know these horses have died as a direct result of racing but they’d die eventually anyway, and yes I know you may think this is a a stupid argument, but it doesn’t make it any less true. The only time me and my family ever bet on horses is the grand national, we don’t do it at any other tome, It’s just tradition in our family, and it doesn’t make us horrible human beings. My husband has just won £250 betting on the winner and that money will go towards finishing off our son’s (who has autism) sensory room, if won’t be spent on frivolously. So bore off!

Springtime336 · 06/04/2019 17:58

Crisscross82 - so sad

derax what is your point?

Crisscross82 · 06/04/2019 18:00

What? What I’ve just said or the horses dying? If it’s the latter I agree it is sad.

billysboy · 06/04/2019 18:01

Crisscross82 -that makes it all ok then !

Intohellbutstayingstrong · 06/04/2019 18:04

and it doesn’t make us horrible human beings

No. It makes you a mindless lemming instead

Doggydoggydoggy · 06/04/2019 18:05

It’s just tradition in our family, and it doesn’t make us horrible human beings

Profiting from the suffering and death of others...
Hm, yep, I think it does.

Intohellbutstayingstrong · 06/04/2019 18:06

My husband has just won £250 betting on the winner and that money will go towards finishing off our son’s (who has autism) sensory room

How distasteful that you shoe horned your son's special needs into your pathetic justification.

breadzeb · 06/04/2019 18:06

That was horrific to watch. Maybe it will open a few eyes.

TheInvestigator · 06/04/2019 18:07

I hope everyone ripping into crisscross never buys cheap clothes and never bought their kids any toys that were made in China or some other place with shockingly bad working conditions where people are treated appallingly.

It's fine to disagree with the race but don't rip into someone because they don't agree with you because there's someone else standing behind you ready to do the same to you because of the clothes you buy or the toys you buy or the companies you buy from.

Crisscross82 · 06/04/2019 18:09

I didn’t shoe horn anything. I just told you what we have chosen to spend our winnings on. You do realise that people are different and will often have different points of view to you. That doesn’t mean they are horrible people.

pelirocco123 · 06/04/2019 18:10

If there was no horse racing , then they wouldn't breed horses to race.Someone always trots out the same tripe ' But what will happen to the horses ' What do you think happens to the horses when they are no longer able to race or don't make the grade? They aren't living their natural lives out rolling in green fields
