Wibu to wear crop tops whilst pregnant?

Opinions on crop tops in themselves are massively divided anyway but some people seem to be very anti pregnant stomachs on show.

I usually wear lots of crop tops in summer, considering the end of this summer I'm going to be very pregnant, I figure I'll be a lot more comfortable in the least amount of clothing possible.

What do you really think of pregnant midriff on show?

Attentions seeking isnt it ?

go the whole hog in a thong and crocket bikini top

Bankofenglandfiver · 04/04/2019 13:56

Just be aware. If you’re five months and it’s your first you likely have a nice neat wee bump.

By the time you get to 9months (or more), you’ll be absolutely huge and probably have stretch marks all over your bump.

geekone · 04/04/2019 13:57

I am sure you will look lovely whatever you wear. Comfort at that stage is key. Oh and it’s not always chavvy mums eat is super snobby about stuff like this.

Do it if you want to. Ignore all the judgy bullshit

Babuchak · 04/04/2019 13:58

it depends, do you plan on wear some kind of bottoms, or just a crop top? I would rather wear a maxi-dress but that's just me.

MatchSetPoint · 04/04/2019 13:58

I wouldn’t but I wouldn’t wear one even if I wasn’t pregnant, each to their own, wear what makes you happy.

Rememberallball · 04/04/2019 13:58

Currently 14 weeks with twins and intend to wear dresses during the later months as I really don’t want to inflict my growing bump on other people. I also have jeggings and long tops which I will wear if the weather isn’t conducive to jersey/cotton summer dresses.

Pineapplesandwich · 04/04/2019 13:59

I find it interesting that some people would think a woman wearing what she's comfortable in is attention seeking, do you think that about crop tops in general? Or is it specifically the seeing a pregnant stomach?

geekone
she is stunning, but that is not a good look and couldn't be further away from a classy lady.

goodwinter · 04/04/2019 14:02

Why would anyone feel sorry for the baby over someone wearing a crop top? Ridiculous comment

Pineapplesandwich · 04/04/2019 14:02

I've never really got into maxi dresses, I'm quite tall and straight up and down, and have just found they make me look like a drain pipe! Maybe these new curves will convert me though.

I think pregnant bellies are fabulous and beautiful

Not a huge fan of crop tops in general though (just my personal taste) - not sure seeing someone that was pregnant in one would be better or worse...

Beargrin · 04/04/2019 14:03

Personally I wouldn't but I don't see an issue with it. You may have people giving you their opinion on the street but you have that just by being pregnant anyways.
Could you wear a tank top? I don't feel that much cooler in a crop tbh. It's only a very small bit of fabric missing.

Flobochin · 04/04/2019 14:03

Definitive no to belly baring when pregnant, it's so undignified.

DoneLikeAKipper · 04/04/2019 14:04

No one should wear a crop top out and about, it’s just a way for women to wear as little on top as possible without being topless (much like totally topless blokes are such a nasty sight in public). No one wants to see people’s bodies in the warm weather, doesn’t matter what shape you are or for whatever reason. There are far more sensible ways to keep cool.

I expect you’re on a wind up regardless.

CutSomeRug · 04/04/2019 14:05

I don’t like crop tops in general, so it’s a ‘no’ all round from me.

Lovemusic33 · 04/04/2019 14:06

Crop tops are ok if your a teenager (even then they don’t look that great), the only time I see people wearing them are at the gym or teenagers hanging around town.

I don’t think I would want to expose my pregnant bump to too much sun either, just seems a bit odd 😐

Pineapplesandwich · 04/04/2019 14:06

Vest tops, and all tops for that matter, are heading towards crop territory already! I don't really have the budget for new clothes, let alone maternity prices, so was trying to work around what's already in my wardrobe

Cotton maternity bands are so much more comfortable when you have a bump that you are not used to, even in the heat they feel so much better to carry the weight. Same way than a good bra is more comfortable.

Lovemusic33 · 04/04/2019 14:08

Vest tops are nothing like crop tops. I wear vest tops in the summer (£3 from matalan) but wouldn’t be seen dead in a crop top.

Melroses · 04/04/2019 14:08

Suncream.

Wise words.

CantStopMeNow · 04/04/2019 14:08

Crop tops on anything but a somewhat flat stomach just don't look good.
I think they look chavvy and i doubt very much they would feel comfortable when you're boobs are going to be bigger and heavier than usual too.

Pineapplesandwich · 04/04/2019 14:12

Lovemusic my vest tops aren't usually anything like crop tops! But with a growing belly they're now halfway up my stomach anyway!

Wear what you feel comfortable in, I wore a bikini while heavily pregnant on holiday and no one gave me a second look.

obvious exceptions like weddings etc, but really by the time you're heavily pregnant as long as your comfortable what does it matter
