No. No no no. What are we allowing to happen? This prospect is appalling. I feel utterly powerless to say or do anything to alter the craziness gripping our politicians. I believe some of them welcome the prospect of disorder to reinforce that their way is the only way that would prevent it. I absolutely despair and only hope reason will prevail.

It's not just police. It's military and MOD employees too.

My husband's force had put a leave embargo in place, but as of yesterday this was removed, so may be they know something we don't? Generally speaking, there is a leave embargo for all large scale events, it doesn't necessarily mean anything is expected to happen, just that they can call more officers in if necessary. No-one on his force is worried particularly.
