AIBU to request my family wears same clothes until we go on holiday?

Going on holiday next week. North of Scotland - Highlands and Islands
Obviously no different wardrobe needed from what we have been wearing all through autumn/winter!
Would it be unreasonable to ask my family to wear the same clothes daily from now until then so I don’t have any washing and ironing to do before we pack?
Ps lighthearted

I have often threatened to give each family member two boiler suits each to be worn in rotation.
I hate laundry.

Thanks for all the suggestions!
DD (10) has favourite tee shirts and jeans...I have tried hiding these without much success (small flat-not much hiding space unless I use the loft!) Actually, with 3 days to go till we leave I might actually use the loft...

My mum used to take all our favourite, second favourite, and not awful clothes out of circulation eleventh billion days before a holiday and spread them out on a spare bed, utterly out of bounds. This make the build up to holidays shitty and resentful as we wore our almost outgrown, itchy, unwanted hideous unflattering but received as a present clothing for weeks before hand. When we finally went away we wouldn't even be allowed to pack everything as she'd set aside more than we needed to take... Confused It set a mood for holidays...

I let my kids pack for themselves and warn them the day before that anything they want to pack needs to be found and if dirty put right in front of the washing machine.

Even my 7 year old manages, and packs for himself, with a little bit of reminding and prompting. My 11 and 13 year olds are fully autonomous packers and making sure they have what they want clean is fully their individual responsibility.

Put the ball in DD's court and teach her to take responsibility for her own things, and to do her own packing, but don't take her favourite clothes out of circulation, it's shitty.

When I was growing up clothes were not as cheap or readily available in 24 hour supermarkets, Primark etc, as they are now so we didn't have many outfits. Days before we went on summer holiday (camping so only handwashing possible) our summer clothes were all packed so we had to wear warm, winter clothes - I still have the memory of it being uncomfortable.
However, I have often been heard to announce the last washing day before a holiday/ school trip (unless we're going to visit my parents as they will happily wash everything).

Poca we are the same person Grin

I announce the last pre-packing wash. Anything worn thereafter does not travel with us. Works reasonably well.

mastertomsmum · 04/04/2019 10:09

Hmm, when we go to Lake District it is a completely different wardrobe down to the waterproof coat

Our last holiday but one, DH forgot to pack any underwear Grin He had to go the whole fortnight on the one pair of undercrackers which he carefully washed by hand every night. It also raised the question on where Cretan blokes buy boxers. We couldn't find any anywhere. Were all the chaps in Crete going commando??

I don't pack for DH so was unaware of his plight-in-the-making, fortunately this experience will not be forgotten easily I still rip the piss quite rightly so I'm sure it won't happen again.

Soon I will have to become the Wardrobe Mistress From Hell as I turn into a howling harpy who ultimately fears there will not be enough amply sized T shirts for ds. Even though I only need a week's worth at the most, thanks to the washing machine included in our accommodation, I feel compelled to take a fortnight's worth, just in case. And I have to hide items I don't want him to wear in the run-up...
