AIBU to dislike this in a new bathroom?

We are in the process of getting an expensive new bathroom put in. I've just got home, most of it is amazing, but I hate this section! You can't open the sink door properly and it's just so annoying with the towel rail. When we arranged this and planned it out with the showroom, they didn't tell us that it wouldn't fit properly! I'm so gutted and I can't see past it and I hate it. AIBU?

That does look like a huge rad for the space. Hopefully they’ll be able to suggest a smaller one

Update for anyone who may be following... we've been back and forth with the fitter (the showroom have remained conspicuously silent Hmm ) and we can organise a narrower one which will then be fitted to give more space. This seems like a fair compromise (so it's going from 60cm to 50cm wide) and will then open approx 90%. I can live with that. I know some people have said they don't like it, but I actually quite like the colour so we won't be changing that. The toilet is apparently moveable approx 6cm which will then be nearly central.

However, there has been no mention of cost at at all. Any suggestions how to tackle this? I feel like we are stuck in the middle between the fitters and showroom, but I point blank refuse to take responsibility for it!

Is the fitter employed by the showroom or connected to them?
Or was he employed direct by you?

I'd change the towel rail, it's a bit OTT.

PregnantSea · 11/04/2019 22:22

Not too late to change it. This is their cock up, not yours

It's not safe, someone could easily get burned while brushing their teeth. If this was in one of my facilities, I would close it! Looks nice though.

I’m an interior designer and that is a very basic mistake that the designers have made.

You can easily go back and tell them that they have given you a design that isn’t fit for purpose.

One question, who measured the bathroom? It may be worth checking the dimensions on the plan match the dimensions of your room.

If the designers measured incorrectly that will give you a bit more leverage with them.

I wouldn’t expect to pay for them to change it. I think it comes under ‘snagging’

For anyone who may care... today the radiator was moved over so the cupboard opens and the bits all fixed! Took time but we got there!

I care. Well done, I bet it's lovely now
