Pregnant after vasectomy.?

Hi all!
My partner had a vasectomy after our 2nd child 2 years ago! I had spotting last week and feeling sick past few days so on the off chance took a test... and got a BFP!
Then noticed the test is 1 day out of date! 😬 what are the chances of this test being wrong?

If the second one was clear Zig and was done correctly I imagine that you are fine as that will be the one furthest from the date of the op.

BambooB · 02/04/2019 11:49

Are you sure he went for it? Hmm

mrsnoodle55 · 02/04/2019 11:51

Unfortunately, as rare as it is, it can happen. I speak as one of the 1/2000 who got caught. In Sep 2018 I discovered I was 6 weeks pregnant, and that was 2.5 yrs after his vasectomy and after 2 clear samples, all done correctly. And there was no affair etc. Like you I struggled to believe the pregnancy symptoms but it was actually true.

Jumbo2000 · 02/04/2019 12:04

Are you pleased the test has come back negative OP?

LucyAutumn · 02/04/2019 12:09

Will you take another OK?

LucyAutumn · 02/04/2019 12:09

I'm not sure how old you are but I've been getting similar symptoms to morning sickness and it's perimenopause Hmm.

Nataliagibson · 02/04/2019 12:24

I’m 23 haha

OP posts:
BitchPeas · 02/04/2019 12:27

If it’s 11 days until you’re due on your period wouldn’t it be too early for a text anyway?

BitchPeas · 02/04/2019 12:27

Test not text

Newyearnewname2019 · 02/04/2019 12:28

23? How old is your H? That's very young to have made such a permanent decision. I say that as someone who was 100% sure I didn't want anymore children at 21. Nothing was going to change my mind. Had our 3rd at 35. Best thing ever to have happened to us. So unless he's a lot older than you I'm surprised they agreed to do it assuming it's on the nhs. I'd take a 3rd test to be sure. The cheapy pink tests are the best.

Nataliagibson · 02/04/2019 12:47

He was 21 when he had it done just asked the go and they went ahead and booked it no questions asked! I also said they shouldn’t have!

Nixen · 02/04/2019 12:50

A 21 year old was given a vasectomy on the nhs? Really?
I dont think he had it done

I booked the appointment for him when he got the referral letter and drove him there he 100% had it done

OP posts:
Nixen · 02/04/2019 12:53

How does driving him there mean he had it done? I call bullshit

MarthasGinYard · 02/04/2019 12:55

Interesting first ever post

EmrysAtticus · 02/04/2019 12:56

DH had a vasectomy on the NHS at 25 after one DC and he definitely had it as I sat in the clinic room next door chatting to one of the nurses and when the consultant was finished she also came through and chatted to me. So it is possible.

Thesearmsofmine · 02/04/2019 12:59

I would be very surprised that a 21 year old was given a vasectomy on the NHS, DH was 31 and they still said he was on the young side.

Noonooyou · 02/04/2019 13:02

I call bullshit!

Nataliagibson · 02/04/2019 13:07

He 100% had it done!! It’s my first post yes, I was reading other threads to see if that answered my question but they didn’t so created an account and made the post, he was bruised after too,

OP posts:
Nataliagibson · 02/04/2019 13:09

We already have 2 children maybe that factored into their decision to do it?

TheGirlWithGlassFeet · 02/04/2019 13:09

I had a close family member have one on the NHS at a similar age. I was surprised too but it does happen.

Newyearnewname2019 · 02/04/2019 13:10

I'm disgusted they allowed it at 21 with no valid reason. Shocking.
