To be so upset about work

Mums1234 · 30/03/2019 15:29

I work on a separate floor in work and other staff four people are downstairs. This week two incidents have really upset me:

  1. I was locked in and staff went home. I was forgotten about
  2. A colleague was leaving and originally a table in a restaurant was booked (in work time) but she cancelled and instead a chinese was ordered. My food was brought up to me and everyone else ate downstairs. I was shocked and upset so I walked out of work and sat in the park. Really kind strangers stopped to ask if i was ok.

These aren't isolated incidents by the way

Eff, Hmm Confused

Yeah I know. Sorry 🙈. I was wondering out loud if it was an ongoing situation or not.

For kind people to see if you were ok I’m the park, what were you doing that raised such concern?
I thought it was kind to bring you food. If you don’t make any effort to integrate them this will get harder and harder. Could you look for something else and aim to start afresh with a new team?

PinkiOcelot · 30/03/2019 19:22

If the others had of wanted OP to join them for food, surely it would have been better to ring her and ask her to go down rather than bringing it up. It’s not worth your MH.
They sound awful, I would love ok for another job though. As a PP said, fuck them.
Also interested as to why you’re isolated, working alone x

That depends on the OP's past behavior. If she has a history of not socializing with them, they may have assumed she didn't want to eat with them. Unless the OP comes back and explains, we'll never know. 🤷
