Far be it for me to do anyone's reading for them but this-

Inclusivity:
MenFest is an independent, all-men event. This is not about shape, sexual preference or gender politics, this is about delving into the Embodied Masculine. That said, exploring Healthy Masculine means discussing and embracing the equality, power and relevance of the Feminine, too. To this end, if you resonate with the label ‘Man’, have been living as such and are keen to contribute to this conversation… no matter your age, size, sexuality, physical ability, ethnicity or religious beliefs, YOU are welcome.

PlainSpeakingStraightTalking · 26/03/2019 16:17

Oh Christ another habitually offended thread.

Sparklingbrook · 26/03/2019 16:18

And there is a Womanfest too. Fantastic.

SleepingStandingUp · 26/03/2019 16:18

Perhaps you could set up a petition to ban it OP.

SkinnyPete · 26/03/2019 16:18

@CalmDownPacino

"We are inclusive of trans men and non-binary folk who have identified as men, and offer contact with [email protected] before booking a place, if queries or concerns arise."

BlueSkiesLies · 26/03/2019 16:18

I think it looks quite nice. Focus on community, spirituality, craf, cooking etc.

Good for them!

Bluntness100 · 26/03/2019 16:18

I really don't see the issue. It is not for us as women to decide what men are or ar not permitted to do. It wouldn't be my husband's thing but if some blokes like it or want it, why not, I hope they enjoy and get benefit from it,

CuriousaboutSamphire · 26/03/2019 16:19

We are inclusive of trans men and non-binary folk who have identified as men Yep! All inclusive.

But a drug, alcohol and screen free weekender of Radical Participation sounds like an absolute gas!

CAn anyone expain Conscious sexuality ?

Actually, I have an old feind who may be able to explain all... she runs similar for women!

SkinnyPete · 26/03/2019 16:19

Oh, and OP

YABVVVVU

ILoveMaxiBondi · 26/03/2019 16:19

They have a poll to nominate which ones.

Thank you! I didn’t see that.

PositiveVibez · 26/03/2019 16:19

Sounds fine to me. I like that you can donate and they use your donation to send people who can't afford it.

Not like its IncelFest or misogyFest

BarbieJellyBabyBrain · 26/03/2019 16:20

Let them hang out and drink beer and get in touch with their inner princess!

It's alcohol free....

CuriousaboutSamphire · 26/03/2019 16:20

And yes, we women have sod all to say about it (even if I do raise an eyebrow, I do tha same at similar women's events). If they build it and men come, then good for them!

Eliza9917 · 26/03/2019 16:20

Meh, let them get on with it.

Or, invade it as 'women that now identify as men'.

dworky · 26/03/2019 16:21

Hopefully they'll have such a good time, they'll stay there.

BarbieJellyBabyBrain · 26/03/2019 16:21

Yes, it doesn't read like an IncelFest type of event, I think it might be actually trying to address toxic masculinity and the pressure of fulfilling what it is to 'be a bloke'. Which can only be a good thing.

pictish · 26/03/2019 16:21

Maybe they should all grow up and realise that they have a family now. Wink

Cavanchezmode · 26/03/2019 16:22

I think what struck me hardest is that these men are so unaware of their own all pervading male privilege that they STILL feel the need for an event like this! I find it astonishing.

OP posts:
Tomtontom · 26/03/2019 16:22

misogyFest

Read that as reesmoggyfest.

Which would be much the same as incelfest Grin

SleepingStandingUp · 26/03/2019 16:22

Charities. Any of these offend you OP?

I honestly thought this was a piss take.
ILoveMaxiBondi · 26/03/2019 16:23

Yes that was my understanding of it. All good in my book.

isseywithcats · 26/03/2019 16:24

just looks like a folksey hebden bridgy version of a motorbike rally to me

Redglitter · 26/03/2019 16:24

Cant see why it's any more of a piss take than Ladies Days where things are pink and 'the ultimate celebration of all things fun, fabulous and female' 🙄

Tomtontom · 26/03/2019 16:25

@Cavanchezmode Suicides amongst young males are at an all time high. There is next to no support available for men who are struggling. What is your objection to an event that might just bring some light to someone that needs it?

I don't care what sex you are, any event aimed at improving wellbeing can only be a good thing.

NewGrandad · 26/03/2019 16:26

Alcohol free and vegetarian? This man is passing.
