It’s a shit hole. Poor amenities, poor performing schools, very deprived socially.....
Unfortunately due to jobs/family etc moving out of the area is almost impossible.

Yes! When I chose this house to rent it appeared like a lovely, quiet middle class area. Now it’s overrun with anti-social behaviour and even drug takers as there is a waste land belonging to the business opposite. Some neighbours are very loud and quite anti-social themselves. Others are just intrusive and involve themselves in my life a lot. One is currently being passive aggressive because my grass has grown a bit since winter. I can’t wait to leave!

Yes. It's scruffy, no amenities apart from supermarkets, and the people are cliquey and strange.

My wider area is lovely and I l0ve this part of England. Im just in a tiny ex council house in a v.working class area and Im no longer keen on the school.

Got to an age where people are doing extensions/moving up/ good holidays/saving for uni and we just didnt do so well career wise and it feels so frustrating we cant just choose to move!

Yes. There's nothing wrong with it, it's just not for me. I haven't made many friends in the 10 years we've lived here, there's really not much to do, it's just too small and cliquey and even if you want somewhere nice to go for a walk you have to get in a car and drive there. In the next few years I want to move elsewhere.

It has good and bad points.

Nice house, good public transport, good neighbours, quiet and low crime, good outdoor spaces

Poor secondary schools (Pay or pray to get a good one), character-less town, expensive

Overall, can’t complain too much. I’ve lived in worse towns/houses.

Ok, if we’re being very general I live in Scotland and I don’t like it. There are many lovely areas to live in Scotland but none of them would work for my situation unfortunately so I’m kinda stuck.....

I didn't like living in Scotland either (grew up there). Found it unfriendly in some ways and weather not good either. Much prefer it in the south west to be honest.

I used to hate where we lived, I thought I'd love it but the reality was very different so we moved.

I now love where we live. Good transport links, small town with a community feel, great neighbours, fairly good access to entertainment for teens, rural surrounding areas, excellent schools, low crime rates.

I thought Sweden would be an awesome place to live! I haven't been there or know anything about it though!

Were you originally from the UK and have moved over there? Why don't you like it?

Oh and I absolutely detest where I live. The area is a dump, drugs, anti social behaviour, fly tipping, parking issues, littering, you name it- it's here. I hate my house too. Only good thing is everything is walking distance.

I wouldn't say I hate it. It's a hard life though, none of the state schools are well funded, everything decent costs a fortune, so there's a massive gap between the rich and the poor. People build without proper planning or following regulations. People cut corners, rip people off and try to get away with it. Everyone moans about what's wrong with it, but given the chance they do the same shit as everyone else.

What was once a nice little town has unfortunately got a touch of the South Londons creeping in. Too many charity shops, too many fast food outlets, too many pound stores, , the drugs are creeping in in, more blatently available and the place is full of the stereotype Uber drivers. Actually it's becoming a ghettoised shitsville.

I live in a Manchester suburb. I love it - nice town centre. But it's expensive and you only have to go half a mile in another direction and it's a very different story.

carear Sweden is not a warm and friendly. Swedish people can be very cold to outsiders. My grandmother was Swedish and she was always very arrogant about Sweden.
Materialisticaly and aesthetically it's great, but sometimes that doesn't cut the mustard.
