Light-hearted
I've only just noticed that after cleaning his teeth, my DP dries his toothbrush on a towel before putting it in the pot. Whereas I rinse mine off and put it straight back in the pot.

AIBU or is he a total weirdo?! Grin

I always rinse and dry my toothbrush off, otherwise it just leaves water dripping everywhere. I knew that not everyone does this as my DP and kids don’t do it and their toothbrushes are always covered in toothpaste and they always cover the sink in water. I wish they did do it!

SeventhWave · 23/03/2019 12:39

I only dry mine if I have just cleaned my teeth and am packing my toiletries bag to go away, so it isn't all wet when it goes in there.

FiveLittlePigs · 23/03/2019 12:41

Rinse it, shake it and stand it up. Don't wipe it on a towel, that is certainly odd. Confused

teraculum29 · 23/03/2019 12:41

lol never heard of drying a toothbrush in the towel.

Dieu · 23/03/2019 12:41

I have never heard of anyone drying their toothbrush.

DaisyYellow · 23/03/2019 12:43

It’s important to know what towel he’s using? I wouldn’t want to use the towel someone had dried their arse on, nor would I want to use a towel someone had dried their toothbrush on.

I air dry my toothbrush too and I can also confirm that I have never had a mouldy toothbrush.

TipseyTorvey · 23/03/2019 12:43

This is utterly bizarre. I have never heard of anything so ridiculous in my life. Okay so if it's so normal to dry toothbrushes how come it's NEVER portrayed in adverts or movies!!?

AdoreTheBeach · 23/03/2019 12:44

I dry mine (give it a few shakes, dry the stem). My husband does not and it’s crusted with so much gunk it’s disgusting.

DaisyYellow · 23/03/2019 12:47

Just because I don’t wipe my toothbrush on a towel doesn’t mean it is covered in gunk! Maybe the real weirdos are people who don’t rinse off the toothpaste after use...

Petalflowers · 23/03/2019 12:50

Never ever heard of someone drying toothbrush on a towel before. Doesn’t it make the toothbrush go fluffy?

I’m a in-the-pot sort of a gal.

SquigglySquaw · 23/03/2019 12:51

I always dry the handle of my electric toothbrush and DP doesn't, his gets horrible mould on the bottom and I spend ages cleaning it! It drives me insane that he doesn't dry it, it's so easy!

Ellapaella · 23/03/2019 12:53

I dry mine or the gunky stuff gets in the side by the sink or in the bottom of the holder.

GlitterPixie · 23/03/2019 12:54

I always dry mine on a towel

NutElla5x · 23/03/2019 13:08

I'd be pissed off if someone dried their toothbrush on the hand towel. I give mine a shake and might wipe off any excess water with my dry hand like a normal person. YANBU.

LimeKiwi · 23/03/2019 13:17

I'm with those who don't - drying your toothbrush on a towel is definitely weird behaviour, never even heard of that as being a thing!

vampirethriller · 23/03/2019 13:28

I've never heard of anyone drying their toothbrush.

spellingtest · 23/03/2019 13:41

I always dry my toothbrush then put it away in the case (can't bear the thought of any bugs landing on it!)

burritofan · 23/03/2019 13:45

Bankers. Yes water gets in the toothbrush mug but that gets washed properly once a week like the rest of the bathroom.

burritofan · 23/03/2019 13:45

BONKERS not bankers obviously

TheFlis12345 · 23/03/2019 14:06

To all the people who have never ever heard of anyone doing this, how would you know?!? Do you discuss your toothbrush routine with friends regularly?! Grin I dry mine but have certainly never mentioned that to anyone!

TheFlis12345 · 23/03/2019 14:07

And to all the people concerned about butt to brush contamination, I dry the handle, not the bristles.
