Light-hearted
I've only just noticed that after cleaning his teeth, my DP dries his toothbrush on a towel before putting it in the pot. Whereas I rinse mine off and put it straight back in the pot.

AIBU or is he a total weirdo?! Grin

I dry mine. Otherwise the water runs back down into the pot, which then grows mould.
He's not weird.
you're the minger Grin

Greenteandchives · 23/03/2019 09:26

We use a separate small towel for this very purpose. He’s not weird.

ThomasHardyPerennial · 23/03/2019 09:27

Totally normal.

Minoritym · 23/03/2019 09:28

It's a good idea, actually. I may start doing the same but use a tissue. I don't want toothpaste on a towel.

pianodragon · 23/03/2019 09:29

I'm with you, OP. It goes straight back to the little glass - never grows anything as it goes in the dishwasher 🤷🏻‍♀️

Littleraindrop15 · 23/03/2019 09:29

I don't like pots, I have those wall hanging Toothbrush holders so I don't need to dry my brush.

ShabbyAbby · 23/03/2019 09:30

I give mine a little shake over the sink
Why wash the toothbrush cup or towels more often than you need to?

Needtobuildabridge · 23/03/2019 11:54

Oh no guys! Surely more people must agree with we that he's a raving lunatic? Grin

OP posts:
DingDongDenny · 23/03/2019 11:55

If he's using the face towel, that's not good - you'll get a minty face

AdvancedAvoider · 23/03/2019 11:57

Who dries their toothbrush?

I have never heard of someone doing this ever Confused

Treaclesweet · 23/03/2019 11:58

Whut? I have never heard of drying the toothbrush! You're all having a laugh right this is pure penis-beaker for me.

TheFlis12345 · 23/03/2019 11:59

I always dry the handle of our electric toothbrush after using and rinsing it. Why would you leave it wet to drip into the pot?!?

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 23/03/2019 12:02

I give mine a little shake over the sink

Disgusting. At the very least, you could use a penis beaker Grin Grin Grin

NannyR · 23/03/2019 12:04

I always rinse it well and dry it after I've used it, it takes seconds and stops the toothpasty/gunge stuff accumulating on my electric toothbrush and the shelf where it stands.

RedHatsDoNotSuitMe · 23/03/2019 12:04

Surely there are more germs on a towel (which gets wet) than there are floating in the air?

More hygienic to air dry, I would think. Which is why I do it.

Although, this is MN, so I imagine those MNers who use a towel to dry their toothbrushes also wash those towels at least every hour.

Needtobuildabridge · 23/03/2019 12:04

@Treaclesweet What's a penis-beaker ? 😂😂😂

longtimelurkerhelen · 23/03/2019 12:10

longtimelurkerhelen · 23/03/2019 12:11

and he is a major weirdo for drying his toothbrush. Grin

greyspottedgoose · 23/03/2019 12:14

I lie mine on the side of the sink to drip/air dry then chuck it in the pot later on

StoppinBy · 23/03/2019 12:25

Never mind getting toothpaste on the towel, I don't want to wipe my toothbrush where I wiped my butt haha.

But that is actually a good idea, save the jar getting all grubby with scummy drippy water.

Joebloggswazere · 23/03/2019 12:28

That penis beaker tickles me every time!!! Grin
No I don’t dry my toothbrush, I rinse, tap the excess water off and put back in the pot. So far, no mould.

DontCallMeCharlotte · 23/03/2019 12:30

I only dry mine if I'm going away/coming home and it needs to go in a wash bag.

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 23/03/2019 12:32

I use a tissue.

You're the raving lunatic IMO Grin

DameMargaretofChalfont · 23/03/2019 12:33

If he's using the face towel, that's not good - you'll get a minty face

But surely it's better than using the main towel which could result in a minty muff Shock!!

ZippyBungleandGeorge · 23/03/2019 12:38

I shake mine after rinsing and put it in the pot. The pot is bleached once a week, I did it this morning. I've never heard of anyone drying a toothbrush on a towel, doesn't he get fluff/fibres caught on the bristles?
