I sometimes get it as part of the run up to a migraine attack. Could you be having silent migraines? Would account for the nausea?

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 22/03/2019 07:42

Once in a blue moon.

ThursdayLastWeek · 22/03/2019 07:45

I get it occasionally, but a few times a day doesn’t sound right!

Poor you, especially with the nausea too.
Maybe keep a diary of how often etc and see if that creates a pattern?

H0wt0kn0w · 22/03/2019 07:46

I used to get it a lot in my teens and 20s but i never get it now in my 40s. Weird!

JellyBeanScene · 22/03/2019 07:46

No that is not normal. A very occasional fleeting sense of deja vu is something that many people experience but not several times a day and or even daily and certainly not when accompanied by nausea. Please see your GP ASAP. It may be migraines but it is also a common temporal lobe epilepsy symptom.

ScreamingValenta · 22/03/2019 07:52

Not very often - maybe three or four times a year. I think you should see your GP as that doesn't sound normal.

LondonHuffyPuffy · 22/03/2019 07:56

I agree with @JellyBeanScene. I have epilepsy and before my seizures were controlled I had multiple occurrences of deja vu on a daily basis, followed by an odd rising sensation in my stomach- a bit like butterflies in the tummy but more intense and it was followed by nausea.

I am not saying you have epilepsy but this could be a symptom of a neurological condition which should be checked out. Hope you are ok, @chelseaMumma

JellyBeanScene · 22/03/2019 07:59

Just to add that I'm really not trying to scare you, and it may be migraines or another cause but just to emphasise you really do need a Doctor's appointment ASAP. This can't wait. It's exactly how a relative's temporal lobe epilepsy began and it developed from there. She is fine now and seizure free but only with medication and after treatment and a lot of worry. If we'd been familiar with the symptoms we may have been able to get her started on medication sooner and gotten her epilepsy under control sooner.

chelseaMumma · 22/03/2019 08:16

@LondonHuffyPuffy that is exactly what I get. Will make gp appointment today

LilyRed · 22/03/2019 08:17

I have Temporal Lobe Epilepsy and I'm also coming here to back up what LondonHuffyPuffy and JellyBeanScene said - Please do go and see your GP or Medical Practitioner as soon as you can to discuss this

JellyBeanScene · 22/03/2019 08:23

Good luck ChelseaMamma. I'm glad that you're going to get one today. Whatever it is the sooner it's treated the better.

JellyBeanScene · 22/03/2019 08:26

ChelseaMumma. I can't type.

TOADfan · 22/03/2019 08:41

Yep same as other posters. I do occasionally (about every 2 weeks atm) but it's seizures.
I have never been diagnosed with epilepsy (can't be confirmed) and they can't confirm what is causing it but it eases with b12 injections. When my b12 is low they are worse, so I would also advise getting your b12 level checked too.

BohemianTragedy · 22/03/2019 08:41

I also have temporal lobe epilepsy and strongly suggest you see your GP soon!
It's exactly how I feel, strong sense of deja vu and sometimes feeling like I'm re-living a dream. Followed by abnormal bodily sensations, nausea, anxiety.
Hope you get some answers soon! X

recrudescence · 22/03/2019 08:44

I used to get it a lot in my teens and 20s but i never get it now in my 40s. Weird!

This is actually normal - deja vu experiences reduce with age.

chelseaMumma · 22/03/2019 09:38

Can't get an appointment at my gp surgery, told to go to the chemist and they can prescribe something instead

I'm out right now but will try again later and be more forceful

OP posts:
JellyBeanScene · 22/03/2019 10:20

Yes, please insist on speaking to a Doctor. They can call you back and explaining your concerns about temporal lobe epilepsy. Whatever it is it is definitely not a matter for the pharmacist. Good luck. Don't let them fob you off I know how hard it can be to be forceful but it's very much necessary.

AnnieMay100 · 22/03/2019 10:30

It’s usually a sign of epilepsy, I have the same thing plus dizziness. It’s called an aura. It may not be this, auras are common before headaches and migraines too. Deja vu is common in itself but with other symptoms it’s often neurological. I’d get it checked out personally.

JellyBeanScene · 22/03/2019 10:42

Please do keep a diary in the meantime of when the symptoms appear and what you feel. And Please update us if you have time later. Good luck.

JellyBeanScene · 23/03/2019 12:19

Did you get an appointment? I hope so.

BabyDarlingDollfaceHoney · 23/03/2019 14:08

Sorry if this comes across alarmist but if it were me I'd push for a brain scan.

chelseaMumma · 23/03/2019 16:46

Nope 😕

Rang them back and insisted I needed an appointment so I got put on the triage list for a call back. By 5 I called again to see what was going on and I wasn't on the list!

Told to call back Monday morning.

OP posts:
JellyBeanScene · 23/03/2019 16:54

That's ridiculous treatment. If you have any trouble on Monday again please let us know. I know no one knows what it is yet but as epilepsy is a distinct possibility there are Epilepsy charity helplines who maybe able to give advice. Please let us know what they say on Monday.

chelseaMumma · 25/03/2019 14:41

Fgs receptionists!!

If I was having an epileptic seizure I should call 999 - well obviously 🙄

Waiting for urgent care to call me back and decide if I need to see a doctor

chelseaMumma · 25/03/2019 16:35

Have an appointment Friday morning.

Hopefully it's just a side affect from my anti depressants
