Tight see through white top and no bra in the office

Okay so I work in quite a large organisation and work within an office, we don’t have a formal dress code as such, we can wear casual clothes as long as it’s appropriate, so for example no ripped jeans, no flip flops, no low cut tops etc.

Today there was a young woman in the office, she had a tight white see through T-shirt on and no bra, very clearly see everything especially when she is walking around the office with everything bouncing around.

Aibu to think this isn’t appropriate ? do others think this is ok in a office setting ? I understand not wearing a bra but surely not when your top is very clearly see through ?!

Lips are far more sexual than breasts

GruciusMalfoy · 21/03/2019 23:07

I attended a managers conference where a woman wore a string vest and no bra, no one mentioned it.

Who even owns a string vest?! That's more offensive than a bit of nipple Grin

Purpletigers · 21/03/2019 23:10

Completely inappropriate. She sounds like an attention seeker . I wouldn’t want to see a man in a tight white see through tshirt at work either .

JazzyBBG · 21/03/2019 23:14

Attention seeking springs to mind.

Deadringer · 21/03/2019 23:16

Tell her to leave her nipples at home.

Whoops75 · 21/03/2019 23:20

FYI Braless breast’s are obvious in all clothes, just saying.

limitedperiodonly · 21/03/2019 23:27

She is a dusgusting hoor. I think you should brun her. Where did those pore young lads put their eyes??!! I hope thye poked them out. its what I would have done to them.

ShastaBeast · 21/03/2019 23:28

The theory is that boobs are very much sexual - we don’t need them that big to feed babies. Primates don’t have huge knockers after all.

Although primates and some humans, past and present, don’t need to cover up lest some other human finds it distracting/distressing.

On balance it’s probably not ok and I’d never do it intentionally, at least not showing my bra.

Whoops75 · 21/03/2019 23:32

Nude vest under a sheer top much nicer than just bra imo

Keep it classy Smile

SocksInPeril · 21/03/2019 23:34

Actually braless for sure or did you actually just see a bit of nipple? I have many a soft bra which is absolutely fine under a t shirt until I leave my home and enter somewhere with aircon turned up.

If braless and tight top then less, a bit inappropriate (though maybe as a society we need to consider why this is and do something about it), however you ABU for feeling sorry for the ‘poor lads’ not knowing where to look Hmm

WaterQuarter · 21/03/2019 23:48

Jiggly free range tits under a tight white tshirt is not appropriate work wear. And as for women's breasts not being sexual cos they're literally just baby feeders...massive eye roll.

Whoknows55 · 21/03/2019 23:59

Definitely inappropriate!

Persimmonn · 22/03/2019 00:13

A string vest?!!! Like this? Seriously really? 😳

Verynice · 22/03/2019 00:26

I had a mishap on the way to work one day. So I went into M&S (a reputable store not in the business of supplying whores one might have thought) and bought a naice white dress. Looked fine in the mirror, went to work. In the mirror I could see the entire outline of my body. I told myself I was mad and carried on with my day - surely I was seeing things. I was looking too hard. Went to salsa class after work and my friend texted me that he could see everything. (We may have had sex that night). I have never mentioned it at work since, nor has anyone else.

Verynice · 22/03/2019 00:27

I did have a bra and knickers on mind you - which everyone could probably see Blush

Verynice · 22/03/2019 00:33

I would be utterly mortified if someone at work dragged me into an office that day.
If she does it daily, maybe a quiet word might be in order, but don't humiliate someone when M&S fails to live up to the respectability you expect!

Verynice · 22/03/2019 00:35

Also, if you don't wear a padded bra, your nipples will protrude. I also learned that the hard way.

Verynice · 22/03/2019 00:43

My poor colleagues though were ever so polite and never mentioned the fact that I was effectively wearing a see-through dress.
I promise I normally dress appropriately!

Verynice · 22/03/2019 00:47

When you're under pressure for time, it fits, it looks fine in the mirror 12 inches from you - you just sometimes end up parading around the office in a see-through dress! I've had so many wardrobe mishaps I could write a book. NOBODY tells me though! I'm left to my salsa buddy telling me that he can see everything. Sad

Aridane · 22/03/2019 00:49

Unless you work in a high class massage parlour she is being unreasonable

And probably still unreasonable in a high class massage parlour Grin

DrVonPatak · 22/03/2019 00:50

Completely derailing the topic, but how about boycotting white t shirts until they actually go back to producing proper non see through ones? It's like finding the holy trail sometimes, occasionally you hear roumors, but no-one has actually seen one. Personal pet peeve of mine.

DeRigueurMortis · 22/03/2019 01:05

Of course it's inappropriate.

WaterQuarter · 22/03/2019 01:08

DrVonPatak, diaphanous white t-shirts are a source of annoyance for me too! Not too see through, not too thick, not too clingy, not too baggy. Is that too much to ask! M&S could solve their woes by fixing that kind of problem.

Nameisthegame · 22/03/2019 01:40

Personally I think it’s fine not to wear a bra, but I hate wearing them. But no way should your top be see. Through. She should atleast be wearing a vest.
